POINT NEMO - OUR PHILOSOPHY & OUR MISSION Point Nemo’s name is derived from the so called „pole of inaccessibility". Located at the coordinates of 48°52.6''S 123°23.6''W and about 2,688 kilometers from the nearest coasts, the closest human beings are the astronauts passing over aboard the ISS. One might think that Point Nemo is a pretty lonely place at the world’s end… The opposite is the case, because down here, in the depths of the unknown, new lands are growing steady and persistently. On Point Nemo, space ships and satellites return home, shaping humankind’s narratives of the future. Point Nemo Publishing was founded in March of 2020. Its core product is the magazine ADATO, which discusses architecture in conjunction with neighboring fields: technology, theatre, film and the fine arts, always with an eye on the socio-political context of our times. In this way, ADATO very much reflects its publishing house’s values and motivations: We believe that true innovation of thought and image emerges when the limits of disciplines are pushed to the extremes. A totally new creation may take shape in cross-media language, when the neighboring and the distant become conglomerate.

Anna Valentiny earned a Master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 2018. She works as an architect for Valentiny hvp Architects in Luxembourg. In 2017, Anna was appointed to the editorial board of ADATO. She founded Point Nemo Publishing in March of 2020. Her first book “Hortus Alienum – Scenographies of Nobody's Voyage”, can be read as the culmination of her overlapping interests in writing, design and the curation of thoughts through narration.

Katrin Euller (geb. 1987) arbeitet als Künstlerin und Ökologin in Wien. Sie studierte Ökologie an der Universität Wien sowie Video und Videoinstallation an der Akademie der bildenden Künste, Wien. By interacting with our environment, be it the physical or the written, our experiences inscribe meaning, thereby we create a place. This publication is an experiment. It consists of multiple attempts to construct a place within architecture

and poetry, as an exception of the distinction. In a case study – a reading – of "Tiefer Graben/Hohe Brücke", various writings assemble in this book. While digging in this place, an essay, a sequence of encounters, and a sketchbook arise: a reflective investigation, directed explorations, and raw, intimate approaches. By writing for a place, the work is unsealing potentials and setting up possibilities to enter, interact and practise in the ambiguous space within architecture and poetry.

Chris Wetz wurde am 5.10.1988 in Luxembourg geboren. Nach einer Einstellung bei der Luxemburger Armee von 2009-2013, arbeitet Chris bis heute als Polizist. "Mit dem Schreiben begann ich, als ich noch sehr jung war. Nach dem allerersten Roman, einem Stephen King, den ich regelrecht verschlungen hatte, enstand bei mir der Drang, ebenfalls zu schreiben.
