Religious diversity is becoming more predominant and visible in cities around the world. We’re looking here at Europe, which is changing rapidly, and the need for Europe to come to a very sophisticated, mature, and cultural accommodation, as immigration, families, and conversion are all likely to continue. It is going to be a part of Europe’s future. Drawing attention to the idea that the sense of the sacred is still an integral part of the lives of many people, and looking at the sacred spaces that facilitate based on the diverse urban population that occupies one city, brings up the idea of diversity in unity and designing a space as a representation of the inherent relationship between the One and the Many.

Down To The Nile

A pedestrain bridge that connects two important districts in the heart of Cairo

Location:

Cairo, Egypt

The project responds to the issue of lacking waterfront public spaces in Cairo. By designing the bridge as both a connector and a waterfront space. This design approach Gives the Egyptians the opportunity to reconnect with the Nile that has always been the vein of their life. The project deals with the concept of the bridge as a destination itself. The three main platforms of the bridge are placed on different levels, allowing various visual and spatial experiences for the users, with the main platform taken down to the Nile. The main platform provides an open public space where the users could perceive the tranquility of the Nile. The upper bridge levels provide shade to the public spaces below. This creates comfortable shaded spaces and pathways. The main entrance of the bridge is through an underground tunnel that leads directly to the lower bridge level. This solution allows the users to directly reach the bridge through the tunnel without the need to cross the street. However, the users can still access the bridge from the street level.

Grotto Del Romito

An intervention which is part from a whole Cave Park project

Location: Calabria, South Italy

.One of the characteristics of Romito is the potential of diversity in agriculture and landscape that the site has .I chose the flat terrain in the middle of 2 different levels of contour lines

To put our rectilinear building and we cultivated the empty land in the middle of the forest with olive and fruits which the yards are on different levels around our intervention. Also designed this organic path going within the new cultivated yards around our building.

For the building it has its main facade looking at the Grotto and the last lowest point of its sloped roof looking at the olive yard behind. When you start entering the building you can find a double height deformed cube with some spaces for gathering and stairs that led to a hanging boxes above that has the gastronomy of the tasting spaces for olive and showrooms for olive products, and these boxes that are above are overlooking the courtyard in the middle of the 2 blocks that we have and which cultivated with olive trees so it’s to integrate the landscape with our building. And then while walking through the courtyard to reach the second part of the building we have the foyer that leads to the auditorium space under the sloped roof. Our sloped roof is consisting of wide steps and stairs so it’s accessible, infront of it we have events platform with olive yard in the background.
