THEMES Exploring how Colour, Texture, Layout and Editorial can be applied to improve work ethic. All will be explored individually and then combined later in the project to create final
COLOUR
RATIONALE Layered swatching helps to decide colour proportion and helps understanding of how colours interact with one another. The more of a colour in the swatch collage, the more it’s represented in the stationery design. The idea here is that the stationery will act as emotive colour palettes themselves.

CALM High stress is a leading factor in low work ethic, so with the goal of creating colour palettes that could reduce stress, I’m swatching photographs of calming imagery.

EXCITEMENT A lack of motivation, interest or fatigue all play a role in low work ethic. Here I’m exploring exciting colour palettes that could interest and motivate. Swatches are taken from imagery of exciting/vibrant scenes. Imagery from: Fashion Parties Sweets

TEXTURE A similar technique will be used to explore how texture can affect mood, under the same two categories, or more if need be. I will be requesting GF Smith sample papers as well as sourcing any additional stock I can find and combining the textures in swatches.
LAYOUT I’m analysing the layout of existing stationery to pick up common styles of what’s already in use, what works, and then creating my own versions informed by the theories in my essay.
EDITORIAL Informed by the theories in my essay, I’m developing editorial for the stationery. Phrases will be analysed based on how the user is intended to react to them.
