OUR OBJECTIVES To give secondary school students around the world an authentic experience of the Argentine way of playing polo, Buenos Aires’ city culture, and the Spanish language. To promote the practice of polo through top level coaching clinics and friendly games with Argentine players. To generate and nurture cross-cultural friendships that value team spirit, equality, respect, integration, fair play and safety. To bring together the next generation of international polo players. To provide Spanish language learning opportunities.

HOW DOES IT WORK? 2 WEEKS IN BUENOS AIRES 7 full days of polo practice, polo training, care for the horse, pony training and a polo Tournament with Argentine players. 40 hours of oral Spanish practice, take part in woodcraft and metal workshops, and a digital photography course (all of these with Argentine students and in Spanish) Weekly relationship building around our camps values with Argentine students.

The Spanish lessons and the practical workshops take place in St. Catherine’s Moorlands School - Tortuguitas and the accommodation and polo clinics take place at La Aguada Polo Club.

THE SCHOOL Set 38km away from Buenos Aires, St. Catherine’s Moorlands School - Tortuguitas offers students an ideal setting to have a truly bilingual education. With classes taught in both Spanish and English, students study the national curriculum and the IB international programmes across a 9-hectare campus. Sports, Art, Design and Technology are the School’s strongest subjects. St Catherine’s Moorlands has a strong commitment to excellence in education, encouraging an atmosphere for students to develop both as individuals and as members of our community. The school grounds of 9 hectares are composed of rugby, football and hockey fields, science labs, changing rooms, Design and Technology workshops, library, music rooms, a big hall, a school canteen and classrooms.


THE POLO CLUB Located only 30 minutes away from The School; La Aguada Polo Club and Resort has 990 acres of farmland dedicated to breeding the best polo ponies and practicing high goal polo. For generations, the Novillo Astrada family have provided Polo with first level players and ponies, and have always been renowned for their warm and careful assistance to their visitors. Students will be learning with the best. In the land of the highest handicap polo, students will practice polo daily, take part in the training and horse care, and either get started or improve their game abilities. THE POLO CLINIC La Aguada Polo Clinic has been teaching polo players for more than 10 years. The training programme is designed by the Novillo Astrada brothers with ponies from their own breeding and practiced in 5 First Level Polo fields. More than 40 players train at La Aguada each season. The camp programme includes the following lessons: • saddling
 • feeding and grooming of ponies
 • training of the polo pony
 • breeding of polo ponies
 • riding classes 
 • stick and ball 
 • Chukkers

Before the end of the camp, students will play the Polo & Spanish Cup with Argentine players of their age and ability.


WHAT IS INCLUDED • 2 weeks of Spanish lessons - 40 hours delivered through design workshops and oral lessons • Daily polo practice - 4 hours a day, 7 full days • 2 week accommodation at La Aguada Polo Resort that includes the use of the facilities - swimming pool, tennis courts and common recreational areas • Full board - breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner • A polo tournament with Argentine players • 1 full day outing to Buenos Aires that includes a City tour, lunch, a visit to the Colon Theatre and tango viewing. • Half a day excursion to San Antonio de Areco where students will see master silversmiths’ workshops and take inspiration for their design work at school. • Half a day excursion to a polo mallet factory and some horse braiding training. • Learning about polo breeding, training and care • Transport to and from the school to La Aguada Polo Resort • Transport to and from Ezeiza Airport in Buenos Aires. • 2 group leaders that provide all the pastoral care, accompany and supervise the group at all times - 1 adult per 6 students.




BY PRACTICING POLO WITH THE BEST HIGH GOAL COACHES, PLAYERS AND PONIES IN THE WORLD, WE AIM TO HELP STUDENTS IMPROVE THEIR GAME AND GAIN CONFIDENCE IN THEIR COMPETENCES AND ABILITIES BY IMMERSING STUDENTS IN A FRIENDLY SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT WE AIM TO HELP THEM INCORPORATE LANGUAGE IN A FUN AND RELAXED WAY
