Polo Valley is a luxury polo facility offering a wide range of activities from beginner polo lessons to intensive polo courses as well as horse training and livery. Founded in 2015, their goal is to make polo a more accessible sport and those who are fortunate enough to have visited Polo Valley before will know that the attention to detail is second to none. The Sotogrande Polo Academy is an exciting new initiative launching in 2021 while coinciding with the development of two new polo fields and state of the art barns with capacity for 150 more horses.

Introducing the Sotogrande Polo Academy

In September 2021, in partnership with the Sotogrande International School, Polo Valley will open its doors to eight students who will take part in a year round intense training programme: The Sotogrande Polo Academy (SPA). Combining a world-class education with professional polo coaching, the SPA will undoubtedly provide an environment where students can achieve success on and off the polo field.

The objective of the programme is to facilitate the dreams of passionate, ambitious, and athletic students who want to acquire the skills and confidence necessary to succeed in the competitive world of polo. Recognising the need for training facilities for young polo enthusiasts, the SPA will support the transformation of amateur riders into seasoned polo professionals.

• The academic partners – Sotogrande International School – is unique in its well established infrastructure for elite sports students, their world renowned golf and tennis programmes facilitate promising future sporting careers for students, while also gaining a world class education. With this experience and knowledge in guiding their student athletes to success, students will be in excellent hands. This unique partnership between Polo Valley and SIS culminates in a perfect synergy to create the first polo academy of its kind.

• The SPA will accommodate the training of both Junior (14-16 years old) and Elite (16-18 years old) Champions for up to four years, taught by leading coaches and riding professionals. Providing over twenty hours of physical and theoretical polo training per week at Polo Valley alongside a specially designed academic programme at Sotogrande International School, they offer the best possible opportunity available for young players who dream of playing professional polo.
