SOUTH OF MARKET HEALTH CENTER SAN FRANCISCO, CA

South of Market Health Center (SMHC) is a nonprofit community clinic providing quality healthcare to under-served members of this San Francisco neighborhood. Executive director, Charles Range leads SMHC with the philosophy that all people deserve the same high level of health care and set his vision to build a community clinic that elevates the health care delivery experience for all; patient, caregiver and staff. Polytech Associates partnered with SMHC to bring their egalitarian vision to reality. The design program for the 20,000 sf clinic combines modern, clean lines with a light color palette, rich textures, natural materials and an open space plan that allows natural light to penetrate the space. Each of these design elements was selected to lend comfort and calm to the building. The flexible plan and room size allows SMHC to increase the number of patients and services they provide while minimizing costly renovations.

235 PINE STREET, 17TH FLOOR SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA Polytech Associates is an architecture, planning, and interior design firm in San Francisco, CA. At the expiration of their lease in 2011, the firm’s leadership determined that a larger office was necessary in order to support the firm’s growing project load. Polytech created a series of test-fits for each space under consideration, identifying the 17th Floor at 235 Pine Street as the candidate that would provide the space needed currently, and would allow the firm to continue to grow its staff over the next ten years. Polytech’s design staff developed the interior architecture and interior design program for the approximately 7,800 sf tenant improvement program.

COMMUNITY LIVING CENTER, VA FRESNO CAMPUS FRESNO, CA Polytech Associates is currently providing programming, architecture, and interior architecture services for the expansion of the Community Living Center (CLC) at the VA Fresno Campus. This project will be completed in four phases. Phase 1 will provide twenty-two new private rooms with full bathrooms for each patient. Patient areas will be fully accessible to patients regardless of mobility. This decanting of patient rooms will provide the ‘empty chair needed to continue the renovation of the existing facility. The expansion will create the space necessary to provide a patient-centered care environment, transitioning the CLC into a more home-like and less institutionalized space. Once complete, the sixty bed facility will offer, palliative care and hospice, patient lifts, centralized dining and recreation areas, and improved spaces for physicians, nurses, staff, medication rooms, and public restrooms. Interior finishes were selected to provide a homelike environment with references to natural materials such as wood and stone. Color schemes are full spectrum to accommodate personal preferences of staff and residents. Each resident room has a built in window seat and display shelves for personalization.

MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDING LOBBY RENOVATIONS HAYWARD, CA AND FREMONT, CA Polytech Associates was asked to upgrade the lobby of this Medical Office Building to reflect the owner’s current brand strategy following their corporate standards for finishes, materials and furnishings to create a warm, timeless approachable, welcoming less institutional environment.
