HERITAGE 1 Walled Romanesque church of Santa Maria de la Tallada The origins of La Tallada are found in the ancient castle, in the heart of this historic site, in which large sections of the wall and many of the defence towers are preserved. The most notable building in the area is the church of Santa Maria, which was originally the castle chapel. It is a Romanesque church dating back to the XII-XIII centuries.

9 Century old oak This monumental oak is found on the path to the Canet Bird Observatory. 10 Puig Segalar Heading west from Tor, on the northern edge of the town there is a crossroads. The path to the right leads to the hermitage of Sant Grau d'Albons and the path to the left leads to Garriboles and Marenyà, and to the north to the Puig Segalar. From its summit you can see the whole of the Empordà river plain, the Gulf of Roses, and the sea, the Gavarres and the interior sierra, and the Albera and Canigó sierras.

3 Church of Sant Climent de Tor Romanesque in style, the church is referred to in the Rationes Decimarum as the Tor Chapel (1279-1280).
5 Civil war aerodrome Built in Canet by the Republican Army during the civil war (1937), the shelters and the remains of the former barracks are open to visitors.
