Stage Europe Network is a collaboration of seven cultural organisations from seven different European countries: Estonia, France, Germany, Iceland, Norway, Poland and The Netherlands. Their main goal is to motivate young people to actively participate in music in an European context and give them a intercultural learning experience. Music is a powerful medium of intercultural communication, that can offer young musicians from different countries the chance to express themselves by sharing their common passion.
HarFest is the fourth Dutch multilateral exchange project as a result of the Stage Europe Network. The Dutch project involves young people from seven European countries creating an inter cultural and European experience with pop culture as a tool. They will travel, live and work together for seven days based on the theme: HarFest. HarFest refers to harvest and festival. Till now the exchanges where based in Rotterdam and the cities around it. This edition we explore the countryside and organised the project in the Noordoostpolder. The project deals with the differences between a rural and urban life. Harvest refers to the countryside but also to a new group of young musicians that participate in Stage Europe Network. We also celebrate as network in 2014 our ďŹ fth year of cooperation and there the festival comes in, that also refers to
Oogsfeest. They will explore the theme literal by living in a rural era at a farm. They have to reflect on what they experience and the differences they encounter and create a new song based on this. An very new Stage Europe Network environment with presentations at stages in the Noordoostpolder, with collaboration of youngsters in creating together new songs, making pinhole photo’s, living and exploring the Noordoostpolder. During the project the musicians will go to several locations for performing and other activities. Listed below are these locations. Boot Recordings They record the bands on tape from the boot of a car. In search of real and authentic music they record in a limited setting, and go back to what the song is about, just as in the earlier days. www.bootrecordings.com Het Tijdelijk Verblijf in Rutten Is an Artist-in-Residence on a farm that will host the project. Living Room Concerts We offer the people from the Noordoostpolder to pick a band for a concert in their living room. At this point we have no clue where they will end up. Netl in Kraggenburg Park, restaurant, cafe and venue. Here the new songs from the mixed bands will be performed and recorderd in a live session during the afternoon. In the evening all band will play at the venue at the European Showcase. Leemringweg 19 www.netl.nl Voorhuys in Emmeloord The theatre where the day for musicians called SOUNDCHECK is organised. Westerpop Festival in Delft Westerpop is a two day festival in Delft. The festival has no admission fee and is free to visited. They have an international line up divided on two stages the Main stage and second stage. Youth in Action The Stage Europe Network exchange in the Netherlands is funded by the Youth in Action Program (now called Erasmus +). Youth in Action was the Program the European Union has set up for young people. It aims to inspire a sense of active European citizenship, solidarity and tolerance among young Europeans and to involve them in shaping the Union’s future.It promotes mobility within and beyond the EU’s borders, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue, and encourages the inclusion of all young people, regardless of their educational, social and cultural background.
