Home is where... is the fifth Dutch multilateral exchange project as a result of the Stage Europe Network; a partnership of seven cultural organizations from Germany, France, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Iceland and Estonia. Aim of the network is to connect the experience of young musicians, and to promote talented young bands in Europe. The Popunie is the Dutch partner in the Stage Europe Network. Home is where‌ is a Dutch / German cooperation that involves young people from six European countries creating an intercultural and European experience with pop culture as a tool. They will travel, live

and work together for seven days based on the theme: Home is where‌. The current situation in Europe concerning refugees and the tensions in society regarding the debate about it, gives us the urge to incorporate the topic into our project. Not in a literal way, but by transforming elements as dependency, insecurity and humanity to the personal situation of the participants and have them think about the life of a refugee with more empathy. The project is focused on talent development, within a European context where experience and knowledge can be shared and exchanged. At the same time we want to raise the question Home is where‌. to address the current refugees situation in Europe. A very dynamic exchange with presentations at existing festivals in Germany and The

Netherlands, with collaboration in creating theme related outputs, making music, video and photo’s, living and traveling together and raising the question Home is where.. .

Homeless... An unprecedented 65.3 million people around the world have been forced from home. Among them are nearly 21.3 million refugees, over half of whom are under the age of 18. There are also 10 million stateless people who have been denied a nationality and access to basic rights such as education, healthcare, employment and freedom of movement. www.unhcr.org How to feel at home.. You are a new refugee. How do you deal with difficult moments, and how can you build a new life in this country? Here’s some advice from refugees who came before you. www.refugeeguide.de/en/ www.vn.nl/do-it-yourselfhandbook-for-refugees/

Erasmus+ This Stage Europe Network exchange project is funded by Erasmus +. A program the European Union has set up for young people. It aims to inspire a sense of active European citizenship, solidarity and tolerance among young Europeans and to involve them in shaping the Union’s future. It promotes mobility within and beyond the EU’s borders, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue, and encourages the inclusion of all young people, regardless of their educational, social and cultural background. We hope this will be a opportunity to meet other people, share music and cultural differences with them and getting new friends. www.erasmusplus.nl
