MISSION:

IMPOSSIBLE

Joe Schneider, Infamous Rallyemaster, is coming again. Reserve March 24tho A repeat performance ending in Bouquet Canyon entitled MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE2~ DECEMBER TECH MEETING The last event for the year 1967 took place on the cool, foggy evening of December 27th. Despite the fog, 15 Porscheneers managed to find the rendezvous in Culver City where Stu Haggart maintains a pair of yellow race-prepared 911’s. Gil Ranney, owner-driver of one car, was there to answer questions and grimace when Stu started his LOUD engine to check everyone’s noise threshold. It was loud enough just sitting in the machine, engine off, listening to the trio of electric fuel pumps. Anyway, Stu’s facilities were impressive and there was plenty of time to ask him appropriate questions, as Myron Kagan and Alain Mona found out. Long distance award for the evening was won, as usual, by Lancasterite Joe Schneider. Honorable mention went to Don Morris’ father, visiting from Montana. Non-Porsche conveyance demerits were given to Ray Cooper Lyle Arnold, and Bill Mclnery. (All in fun fellas~) Curt Kuebler TECH TIPS PCA’er Ernest Ozsva~h suggests a low cost substitute for the factory $4.90 - 912 paper amr filter cartridges. The Lee brand filter is available at Fedco and Unimart stores, at $1.48. Lee part no. is AFL-101 made for ’59-’62 Rambler 6, ’61 Studebaker 6, or ’59 g ’60 Studebaker V8 2bbls. Filter paper area looks about the same as the stock Mann filter. UP-FIXIN IS HERE UP-FIXIN der PORSCHE (Volume II) has been printed and is now ready for sale -to all PCA members. All 211 pages of this handsome new book are filled with technical articles and data reprinted from PORSCHE P~ORAMA (1961-66), including photographs, drawings, etc. Credit for following this project to completion must go to Budd Snyder and those who helped with the cutting, pasting, proofing: Don Morris, Owen Champion, Ray Kornfeld, Lyle Arnold, Paul Magaris, John Stimpson, "Doc" Gouchenour, Nick Friesen, . . .
