LA Porsche/VW Literature Show By Bruce Pollock March 10, 2007, LAX Hilton Hotel. Well this was my maiden voyage to this event, and it was everything I had ever heard, and more. It is billed as a literature, memorabilia and toy show, which it certainly is. But more than that it is a great source for some hard-to-find parts and other items that might otherwise go unnoticed. And beyond the stated purpose of the event, like most club events it was a chance to see and chat with people that you might not have been in contact with for months, years or more. My casual observation was that it is this “contact� or networking aspect that accounts for the popularity of this show as much as the advertised purpose. I recall that during our time there, I actually saw as many people standing and talking to friends and other like-minded Porsche and/or VW fans as were actually making purchases from the wide spectrum of vendors.
