DVD From Porsche From Porsche AG Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is proudly presenting its history in motion : In a 2.5 hour film The Porsche Way , the Company presents its entire history from the early years up to the present day on one full-coverage DVD. Starting with the lifetime achievements of Ferdinand and Ferry Porsche, the film focuses in eight chapters on the development of the famous sports car manufacturer, proceeding from one decade to the next. tively on a DVD , says Dieter Landenberger, the Director of the Porsche Archives. The DVD is based on the Archives Collection with more than 5,000 hours of footage. Taking most impressive scenes from the history of the Company, the products and motorsport, the DVD presents numerous film extracts never seen before. Several outstanding celebrities of former times also make an appearance in the film, among them former racing drivers such as Hans Herrmann, Eberhard Mahle, and Paul Ernst Strahle as well as former employees of Porsche such as the ”Engine King” Hans Mezger or Dr. Heinz Rabe, formerly the Director of the Porsche Social Affairs Department. As a further highlight, the film comes with music composed specifically for this DVD. The Porsche Way from the Porsche Museum Edition is now available in German and English at the Porsche Museum Shop at a price of Euro 24.90. Ed. Note: That’s about $35.00 US, plus of course the air fare and other travel costs associated

Coronado Speed Festival

Ed. Note By Bruce Pollock For several weeks now, everything has been about producing our Zone 8 Concours at the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills on August 30, 2009. The focus of the event is the celebration and honoring of Porsche’s 60 years. Our goal is to present an impressive array of road and racing Porsches to represent each major milestone in Porsche’s rich history. It is a Zone 8 concours, so sought-after points will be awarded to judged entrants and there will be a display-only section for anyone who wishes to display without the stress of being judged. Space is limited so if you are going to enter, the best time is right now. We’re working on lining up sponsors for the event to help defray the costs associated with its production. Our plan is for a Vendor Row sort of affair where vendors will be displaying their wares. Present plans also include a raffle of donated prizes. This may also be in the form of a silent auction. Truth is, we’re not sure yet.

Martin Holford martinholford@me.com

Event Info:

There will of course be the legendary LA Region Lunch, for which I believe we’ve become rather famous. No sense stopping now. The Greystone Mansion is famous for its history and many, many movies have been filmed there. The American Film Institute helped fund the restoration of the mansion and occupied it as their headquarters from June of 1969 to 1982. You can learn all about the mansion on their web site: www.greystonemansion.org. We are striving to make this a real Porsche Happening. It will be the Porsche Place to be at the end of August. Of course, earlier in August, Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca will be the Porsche Place to be as Porsche is the featured marque at the Monterey Historics on the occasion of its 60 years . That will be a fun week of activity — Porsche and otherwise. OK - so save the 30th of August and attend our concours at the mansion. There’s a lot of pictures on page 4 and entry form on page 5. This Is Greystone Photos By Jeff Peck Top Photo from Greystone Web Site If this looks like a nice place to spend a Sunday, you’re right! And if you add the presence of forty or fifty pristine rare and exotic Porsches, you have our 2009 Zone 8 Concours. Pristine examples of Porsche cars ranging from classic one-of-a-kind specimens to today’s latest GT3’s will adorn the gtrounds of the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. In honor of the 60th anniversary of Porsche, our goal is to present an impressive array of road and racing Porsches to represent each major milestone in Porsche’s rich and storied history. Plan on spending August 30th here at Greystone. You’ll have fun. There will be a raffle and/or silent auction. Lots of Porsches and Porsche people. Event sponsors will be on site. It’s going to be a Porsche Happening. We might even solicit your help. This is big.

PCA ZONE 8 CONCOURS The Los Angeles Region of the Porsche Club of America is pleased to announce the relocation of our annual concours to the famous Greystone Mansion on Loma Vista Drive in Beverly Hills. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Porsche cars, the move to this historic venue more closely aligns the event with values embodied by Porsche since its inception in 1948. Gothic and Neoclassic architectural features of the mansion evoke the spirit of the birthplace of Porsche — the man and the car.
