Yes, most of the Angeles National Forest was ablaze and had been for a few days thanks to what came to be known as the “Station” fire. Still, it was a joy to behold and you should have been there! The inaugural edition of the Auto Gallery Porsche Concours at legendary Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills presented by the Los Angeles region of the PCA was an unqualified success!

In addition to the normal cleaning, polishing, judging and points tabulation, the LA Region’s now-famous Ribs / Chicken / Tri-tip lunch was served on the grand terrace of the mansion overlooking the sun-soaked West Side of Los
Angeles in the shade of some more-thanwelcome umbrellas. After lunch came a raffle and the awards presentations, preceded by a talk from ABC TV’s car editor, Dave Kunz who spoke about Porsche history and models in development. Raffle prizes were comprised of a fine selection of books including a copy of Excellence Was Expected
