Greystone Concours 2010 By Bruce Pollock Our second annual Auto Gallery Porsche Concours at Greystone Mansion was well attended and well organized, resulting in a smooth-running, enjoyable Porsche Day.

Since a picture actually IS worth a thousand words, I’m, showing you as many as possible here. We’ve received many excellent photos from entrants and others. Showing them all here is beyond practical or possible, so we’re working on posting a selection of photographs in the “Photo Albums” tab of our web site — pcala.com. Keep checking there for new photos. Meanwhile, the short version is, Greystone was a wonderful day. Cooler than last year. Everyone had fun. The food was great, as were the cars both on display and in the Porsche Corral. People

Before the raffle and awards, we were honored to welcome Kerry West from Porsche Cars North America. He spoke to the group about the World’s first production hybrid — the LohnerPorsche made in 1900. This proved to be the perfect set up for talking about the upcoming Cayenne Hybrid and 918 Spyder Concept, which, we since have learned, has been approved for production.

Then he spoke about Porsche-Approved Body Shops and the process by which they gain approval. High standards must be met to qualify for approved status. Once achieved, they gain Kerry West from PCNA. access to parts and train- Art Yuter photo. ing directly from Porsche — a worthwhile quest, I would imagine. Continued on Page 4.

Greystone 2010 (cont.) Then came news about PCNA’s Area West doing more local driving events with the Porsche Driving School Instructors. We’ll hear more about this from Michael Dolphin as plans develop. Following Kerry West, Eric Schwartz, the General Sales Manager from the auto Gallery, our Title Sponsor, talked about Porsches and the other marques represented by the dealership. He also announced that the auto Gallery has been appointed to represent the new McLaren MP412C. Good news, indeed. The Panamera Weekend Raffle prize was provided by the auto Gallery and won by Joanne Markham. Eric and the auto Gallery have been strong supporters of our concours for many years. Here’s to many more.

We were fortunate to have Angelique Chacon serve as “presenter” for the winners’ awards, thereby brightening up all of those photos and the spirits of the winners. Thanks, Angelique. With the awards concluded, everone cleaned up gathered their stuff and went home.

Seen to the left are the business card ads of the Supporting Sponsors at our Greystone Concours this year. The support of these companies along with the Title and Platinum sponsorships of the auto Gallery and TruSpeed respectively, made it possible for us to use black ink to summarize the financial aspect of our 2010 concours — not a lot of it, but black nonetheless. And aside from the dollars and cents part, their presence made everything more exciting. It was a Porsche Happening at the Greystone Mansion. They participate in events like this to promote their businesses and help Porsche owners maximize their enjoyment of the cars.

We thank all of them very much for their participation. And an excellent way to continue to thank them is to make them your first call or inquiry when you search for products and services for your Porsche.
