2012 Business Expo A Success 03.27.12 The 2012 Business Expo was held at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center on Tuesday, March 27. With nearly 100 exhibitors, the venue provided the perfect place for networking and information gathering.
team to prepare a dish to be sampled. After 21 years, the Taste of the NFL has distributed more than $11 million, raised from ticket sales to its events, to local and national food banks across America.
The Expo kicked-off with a well attended Business After Hours Monday evening, sponsored by Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center and General Beer.
As a tie in to the focus of Taste of the NFL, several area food banks including the Mobile Food Pantry, Operation Bootstrap and Salvation Army participated in the Expo with non-perishable food items collected as part of the admission. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s raffle of an autographed football and apron from this year’s Party with a Purpose will be donated to these local food pantries as well.
Tuesday morning Keynote Speaker, Wayne Kostroski, Stevens Point native and Founder of Taste of the NFL, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness and money for hunger relief presented Giving is Good Business – Achieving Super Bowl results with Personal, Professional and Community Goals. Wayne said he views success in life as maintaining balance in three key areas: personal, professional and community. Kostroski founded the Taste of the NFL in 1992 while serving as chairman of the restaurant committee for the Super Bowl XXVI Task Force. That year, he created the organization’s first Party with a Purpose, held on the eve of Super Bowl Sunday. At the event, one chef from each of the NFL’s 32 cities is paired with a current or alumni player from each NFL
The feedback received has been favorable, from the venue to the diversity of the exhibitors, steady traffic flow and quality of leads. All exhibitors will have the chance to share their opinions and suggestions by completing an on-line Expo wrap-up survey that was emailed out earlier this week. Results will be used when planning the 2013 Business Expo. Thank you to all who participated and helped make the 2012 Business Expo a tremendous success! See EXPO / Page 4

What they have to say \\ Dolce Digital Imaging and Printing opened it’s doors in July of 1984 as a “while you wait” quick print and copy shop. We are not a large corporation or chain that caters to its National Accounts. We are a local small business that has been family owned and operated for more than 25 years. Our focus is on YOU, other businesses located in Portage County and the surrounding communities. OUR success depends on the success of other local businesses and our community, so we go the extra mile to service each of our customers as if they were our only customer. Dolce Printing is not only a full service Printer but we also offer the full spectrum of copying
services as well. From one copy to a full color print job we do it all. Through the years we have continued to evolve with the times to meet the needs of our customers. Just some of the additional services that have been added over the years to meet those needs are graphic design services, a full line of digital services from copying to full color digital printing and most recently a full array of mailing services including bulk mail. We try to provide services that allow us to handle projects from conception to completion at an affordable price. We would love to help you on your next copying or printing job. We offer free pick-up and delivery. If you can’t make it to us, we’ll come to you! Dolce Printing joined the Portage County Business Council in 1984. In 2004, we were awarded the 2003 Small Business of the Year award. We are proud to be a member of the Portage County Business Council. The Business Council is always improving what it has to offer small businesses. We would describe them as cutting edge, effective and active. We continue to renew our membership each year because the networking and partnership they provide is important to us. \\\\\
