The music commission was made possible by the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin, the CWSO Board of Directors, UWSP College of Natural Resources and Ellis Stone Construction Company. ABOUT I am joining the Business Council because…. As a small sole proprietor operation it is often difficult to conduct all of the necessary functions of a successful business, i.e. marketing, networking, book keeping, sales not to mention doing the designs and installations. I see this organization as a good resource to aid me in finding the most effective ways to navigate the complex business world as well as help my business find and take advantage of the resources available to it to be successful and grow into a integral part of the community.

QPS has experienced substantial growth over the last 25 years. We currently employ more than 5,000 associate employees weekly and work with over 1,500 companies throughout the Midwest. QPS has earned a reputation for responding to both employees and customers, finding optimal employment for applicants and taking initiative to resolve customers’ staffing needs. QPS recently added Nicole Williams as our account executive. Nicole has over 8 years of experience with the United States Army Intelligence Center and has previous sales experience as an owner/agent for Famers’ Insurance. Like QPS, she believes in supporting the local community and volunteers for the Merrill Relay for Life and Wisconsin Traditional Archers. The Reality Shop, held at SPASH on April 9th, included students from SPASH, the Alternative High School, Amherst and Rosholt. It gave approximately 390 students the opportunity to experience the challenges of balancing a monthly family budget. A special thanks to the 33 business volunteers who took time from their work schedules to ‘staff the shopping tables’, Team Schierl Companies for providing lunch, Walmart Supercenter for providing beverages and the SPASH kitchen staff for bringing coffee and cookies for the volunteers. At the debriefing, students were asked the following question; “What did you learn today that surprised you the most?” Here are some of my favorite answers. “Life is expensive, you need a good job.” “I learned it’s important to work hard and get an education.” “Kids are super expensive!” “How much everything costs…like oh my gosh I had a decent income but everything costs a lot for a family of five.” And finally, “Another good reason to not grow up!”
