Leadership Portage County measures community involvement through four criteria: community awareness, advocacy, participation and leadership. LPC participants regularly report increased involvement in all four areas, including a significant increase in community leadership. The Portage County community is able to utilize the impact of Leadership Portage County by linking recent LPC alumni and their individual interests and skills with community leadership opportunities. Leadership Portage County balances leadership skill development with a greater understanding of the issues and challenges facing Portage County, preparing participants for more active leadership roles. Leadership Portage County participants apply their individual strengths to effectively serve their businesses, organizations and communities. LPC still has openings for our 2014-15 sessions. AMBASSADORS TAKE PART IN DEDICATION CEREMONY The Ambassadors Club was honored to take part in the Centennial Celebration / Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on June 4th for the new Mid-State Technical College campus located at 1001 Centerpoint Drive in downtown Stevens Point.

A NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR In June, I married Joe Van Alstine. He is the brother of a high school classmate of mine and we reconnected after 35 years. During that time, Joe was married, had three children and lost his wife (Lori) to cancer. I’ve never had children but now am happy to have Abby (26), Sam (23) and Anna (17) welcome me to their family. So, I’ll be tacking Van Alstine on to the end of my name . . . if you have the need for speed, just call me Lori. Best regards to all – Lori Dehlinger Van Alstine
