Hot Sha Rebranding
1/ Hot Sha Rebranding (Client Project)
CLIENT PROJECT
Hot Sha is a new hot plate fast food franchise that has arrived in Tsuen Wan. I try to help it to rebrand their image in order to emphasize the characteristic of Hot Sha and make it more attractive to teenagers.
Draft Research
The Original Logo Analysis Although the original logo included Chinese mask and “Tai Chi” pattern as its features, it does not necessarily impress consumers with the logo successfully. Meanwhile it gives consumers a ferocious and strict feeling but not the characteristic of Hot Sha – hotplate, friendly and kindness.
Final Version Black in color
Since the color is black iron. Also black and red are very good match.
Result Some famous restaurant use red in colour, it may since red and yellow will easily increase people’s appetite in psychological explaination.
Design Concept We inherit the elements of the original logo, and amend it to be a better logo. Our design direction is to match the restaurant’s mid-range market position, like Yoshinoya and KFC. The new logo have been combined iron plate and Chinese mask, and create a rotund, cute Chinese mask, to increase the feeling of friendless and happiness.

Try to bring out traditional sense of angry and serious. Also, I made the long facial mast to a round one in order to show the benevolent warmth.

Show the feeling of happy.
Beard
Show the feeling of power of king.
Red in color
Since the main dishes as spicy Sichuan cuisine, and the red facial mask represent righteous person. Show that they will be 120% passion for food, genuine sincerity to the customer.

GROUP PROJECT
The designs based on the Hong Kong Bill of Right - Artical 16. There are total four parts in the work. They are SPEAK, WRITE, CORRECT and CREATE. I am responsible for the part of WRITE. That is the game of jange. I try to let people experience the right of writing during the process of the game.
Background
Design Concept
When you hear Hong Kong this word, what will be come up with your mind? Hong Kong Victoria Harbour? Hong Kong’s night view? Shopping paradise? Or international financial city?

But what I think is freedom of speech. Compared with China, freedom of speech in Hong Kong seems to be more treasure. Since Hong Kong can maintain the tradition of freedom of speech, thus, Hong Kong can maintain to be international financial city with clean government and safe living place.

Everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of his choice. 3. The exercise of the rights provided for in paragraph (2) of this article carries with it special duties and responsibilities. It may therefore be subject to certain restrictions, but these shall only be such as are provided by law and are necessary(a) for respect of the rights or reputations of others; or (b) for the protection of national security or of public order (ordre public), or of public health or morals. Base on that, we divide the event into four parts. They are SPEAK, WRITE, CORRECT and CREATE.
Wanted to promote freedom of speech and teach people what the right attitude toward our human right is, we designed to set up an event to make a promotion.
Target Audience - Family Since the content of the produce should not be too serious, we should use some interesting formats to present this serious topic.

But our jange will not provide brick for players. Actually, there is a stack of postcard. People can choice whether to write something on the postcard or not. Then, they can write anything on the postcard. Next, they should fold the postcard to be a brick. Finally, they have right whether to join the game or not.

Other Parts of the Event SPEAK As freedom of speech is all people’s right, we cannot ignore children’s opinion. Thus, it is a sticker for children. The aim is to encourage children to speak out. Here is a poster with stickers. When children speak out, they can get a sticker as a gift.
CREATE We use crayon to write a sentence- “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to death your right to say it.” on the white paper. When people use water color paint on that paper, the sentence will be appearance. That means no one can disturb what we create-the sentence of the word.
CORRECT It is a book which teaches people how to enjoy your freedom of speech correctly.

In our life, it is same as the puzzle game. Although there are something we really want, but reality is cruel. There is always limitation. But if we think positive, it is not really a thing. Because we cannot get what we want easily, we will know the term - treasure.
Background Puzzle is a game. Also it can be a part of our life. Every body, every thing, every moment is a piece of puzzle. Our life is made by these puzzles. However, not all puzzles can fix perfectly together. You should consider its shape and its color. In our life, it is same as the puzzle game. Although there are something we really want, but reality is cruel. There is always limitation. But if we think positive, it is not really a thing. Because we cannot get what we want easily, we will know the term - treasure.
I use the reality photo to be the background but drawing people in the picture since I want to emphasize the reality in our life but at the same time, our life just like a drama, seems not to be real. For page number, with the bigger number, the number of puzzle will be increase. That means during our growth, we get more and more things in our life. However, since those puzzles under the page number have been cut out, when you turn over the page, you will see that actually there is a hole under the page number. It represent the time you have spend in your life. So don’t be regret any more, just feel and enjoy your life!

WINNER OF THE GI MALL ART COMPETETION This is the winner art piece of the gi mall Art competition - Unseen Relationship. It shows how electromagnetic wave leads to the crisis of famine. There are lots of possibilities for anything. Therefore we should not be short sighted, and care more about our Earth.
Background Butterfly effect, conspiracy theory, karma, tracking, all these are the keywords of the theme, unseen relationship. In the world, no one really knows what cause something happen, and how big the influents of something are. Since there are lot of space for us to imagination, it is really interest and meaningful. My art piece is called Bee Lost. Actually, the name of this work has two meanings. One is Bees being lost since people using mobile phone. The electromagnetic wave release from the mobile will interfere in bees’ life and let bees cannot find their way to seek pollen and back to their comb. Without the spread of pollen by bees, flowers cannot bear fruit. It affects the harvest of food, and famine will happens.
Design Concept I use balance ball to represent the process of karma. One ball crash to the next one, then the next one will crash to the next one, and so on. Thus, there are six ball in the background represent there are six step will occur. Lines represent the relationship between balls. Since the background is already complicated, thus the graphic I draw want to be simpler. Not only want to show the story of that unseen relationship clearly, but also means that things happen so simple and direct, but the effect can be big and out of our imagination.

This set of teachers’ kit is from Hong Kong Heritage Museum, the exhibition of Cantonese Opera, for Chinese History school subject. The target audience is form 1 students. There are four sets of teachers’ kit, they are: 1. A Booklet For Teacher 2. A Foshan Ancestral Temple Stage Poster And Door Plate Sticker 3. Role Card Stand 4. Costumes Card It is suitable for teacher to use it for teaching in a class or in a group within one hour.

As Chinese Opera with long history and valuable historical and cultural value, it is good for student to understand, to know and moreover, raise their interest on appreciating and enjoying of the performance of Chinese Opera. It is also a kind of National Education

Design Concept The concept of the teachers’ kit is fun, historical and interactive. The art and design direction are using some Chinese element such as red colour in publications which is most represent China. The style of graphic is mix of traditional and modern, in order to attract students’ attention and reduce their resistance feeling of old things.
1. Booklet For Teacher Inside the booklet, it provides information of knowledge about Cantonese Opera for teachers. Also, it tells how to use the set of teachers’ kit, how to play the game, and list the items inside the teacher’s kit for check.
Teacher can use the poster to introduce the Foshan Ancestral Temple Stage. Also, the door plate sticker is a game for student to guess where the door plate located.
Teacher can use the Role Card stand to introduce the different characters on stage. Also, it can let student to guess the sequence of role in Six Pillars System. And insert the card on the poster.
4. Costumes Card Teacher can use the cards to introduce different types of costumes of Cantonese Opera. Also, in order to strengthen the understanding of costumes of Cantonese Opera, there is a matching game for students to play by using the cards. Just like the memory game. Let see who can match the most corrected pair.
