Visual communication has the power to evoke the imagination. I’m not a talkative person, so I prefer presenting my thoughts visually. Typography and imagery function like a mirror to reflect every designer’s point of view, background, experience and innermost thoughts. This portfolio not only shows the progress of learning design, it shows my personality through the reflection of my working my thoughts visually.

OBJECTIVE_

To rebrand an existing or fictional deli brand and apply the new identity to meat packaging and food products with a country deli style. The goal is to comprehensively recreate a new identity system principles using various innovative food packaging. APPROACH_

There is a French dessert shop, Laduée, that currently has a girly, feminine and floral design impression. They do not yet have a deli. This project launches a deli using a down-to-earth yet highend style. The rooster and the colors red and blue are the elements to represent France. In addition, all the products have a tone that has natural palette like French country landscapes. The packaging IS printed on mustard colored paper that is warm and soft, unlike most of the plain wrapping used in everyday delis.

設計動機 創造一系列以國家或文化為區分的食品包裝,並賦予它新的品牌形 象。此專案的挑戰是將品牌設計應用在不同種類的包裝上,挑戰在 不同形式的包裝但看起來是同一個家族,同時包裝容器與材質又要 符合該文化的特質。

設計方向 以法國為主,有別於法國給大眾時尚高級的印象,我想做出一組法 式鄉村樸實感的包裝設計。識別設計用的是手繪感的公雞形象、手 寫字體、法式傳統花紋、和法國鄉村建築的圖結合而成,並使用最 能代表法國的紅色與藍色當作主要色調。所有的紙質選取偏奶油 色,有一點毛細孔為暈的狀態,想呈現出親切的手作感,溫暖又帶有 細緻感的風格。標誌用在附有標籤的香料罐、酒、橄欖油、醃製物等 玻璃罐上,也有用在麵包袋、雞蛋盒、起司盒、和包肉類的紙類包裝 上。也搜集一些周邊的廚房用品,讓視覺更完整呈現法式鄉村風格 的包裝設計。

OBJECTIVE _

The future is unpredictable. We don’t know how the things we take for granted today will be radically different in the future, like what has occurred from dial phones to the current smart phones. The goal is to design a book that uses creativity to think about how one everyday object will be transformed in the future. APPROACH _

Vinyl has been a common format in which to record and distribute music. This book is introducing the record history from past to present and what may come to pass. The future of the record is going to be everything with how people interact with music. Digital music can combine with different materials. It can be incorporated into clothes, accessories or jewelry that is close

動機與目 想像未來的音樂會是以什麼樣的行式出現,設計一本書將概念表達 出來。這是挑戰想像力與傳達能力的專案,利用編輯內容與書面排版 傳達出個人的想法。

設計方向 這本書我將劃分音樂的儲存格式從過去,到我想像的未來分別五個 章節,從黑膠、卡帶、CD、到MP3。我利用音樂聲調的高低起伏,設計 每一頁段落的長短,黑色的色塊印在偏黃調性的紙張上,彰顯仿古的 特色,就好像拿起舊日的唱片封面一樣,想起過去同時也預想著我期 待的音樂形式會用什麼方式出現。在每一個章節的開始頁面,我都用 了黑白的圖片加上音樂出現律動的線條,黑黃色的強烈對比,就如同 白天與黑夜,音樂帶給人的情緒可以是正面快樂的也可以是負面黑 暗的,隨著音樂的起舞,高低音符,迎向未來,而音樂也縮成最小的形 式,隨時隨地都在我身邊環繞著,成為我身上的某個配件。

OBJECTIVE_

Create a promotional campaign for a film festival showing the work of a director. This campaign reflects the essence of the director’s work. The project required developing deliverables, such as a category book, poster, DVD packaging, tickets and the products associated with the concept. APPROACH_

David Fincher is a famous director who is good at dealing with human dark psych side and good story telling to bring surprise to audience. Therefor, I created the thread was” The hidden compulsion for evil in the film of David Fincher.”—Twisted Spirits. The photo style was showing the atmosphere of scared and mysterious. Most of images were adjusted as dark green tone and some of them have blur shadows. In addition, There are three products which are crime novels, personal collective kits and the crime kit. I imagined that a person who has evil thought from reading crime novels, then starts to

動機與目的 以大衛芬奇David Fincher導演為主軸,挑選四部他導過的電影,將這 四部電影設計成一個有主題的影展,並設計周邊的產品,包含識別設 計、電影書編排、手冊設計、網站、DVD包裝、海報、以及商品等等,挑 戰掌握導演的視覺風格,與系列電影的主軸,並以該主軸發展電影主 視覺,和設計出與主軸相符合的商品。 設計方向 由於四部電影都是探討人的黑暗面,我找出一個主軸可以貫穿這四 部電影,就是扭曲的靈魂。電影裡經常出現各種懸疑緊張感,其實都 是在描述人性的黑暗面造成的恐懼,看完時都有一種恍然大悟及強 烈的震懾縈繞在心頭,所以我主識別的設計,用的是大小不一至的字 母排列,並且呈現手寫感的不整齊,想要表達出人類不穩定、焦躁的 情緒。詭譎的綠色,和模糊重疊的人影照,表現出對未知的恐懼感,模 擬這些靈魂被扭曲的人為出發點,設計類似膠袋、繩索、手套、以及生 鏽的鐵盒,收集著恐怖不為人知的東西,讓觀眾有種身歷其境的恐怖 感。

The sense of smell is invisible, but it is potentially more powerful

動機與目的 以氣味會影響人們的記憶為主題,搜集相關資訊,挑戰將搜集的內容 編輯成書,將香氣視覺化。

設計方向 氣味是一種看不到卻具有影響力的感官之一,他甚至比其他感官更增 強記憶力。書的內容是關於香味如何影響記憶,和一些數據分析。 為了創造出當聞到特定的氣味時,腦海裡浮現的畫面,和當時的感 受,整體的視覺是以花卉與帶有意境的照片,字型則是選用襯線體, 及彎曲的的線條,表達出香味揮灑在空氣中,透過鼻腔,喚醒腦中的 記憶,勾勒起過去的畫面,彷彿身歷其境回到了當下。整體創造出輕 柔飄逸的風格,表達了看不見也摸不著的氣味,其實帶有比視覺更強 烈的力量幫助記憶。而且整本書也附上有香味的花卉書籤,讓讀者一 邊翻閱一邊聞到花香味。

than sight. In this class, I researched about how scent affects our emotions and evokes our memories. I came up with five opportunity gap: keeping slim by aromatherapy, customized scents for boosting sale, rose potted plants, aromatherapy for children and toys with scents that help babies develop their learning ability. The design focuses on soft photo styles with landscapes, flowers and people that help create elegant and emotional impressions.

OBJECTIVE_

The goal of this project is to repackage a tea brand, The Republic of Tea, which is a leader in the tea industry. They sell various flavors of tea which are not currently easy to recognize by category. Beyond making the tea easier to identify, it is possible to make more physically appealing. APPROACH_

I reclassified all the tea into five categories and separated them visually with color, different typefaces and small icons to represent

動機與目的 重新設計茶葉品牌—茶葉共和國的品牌識別。由於他們的茶葉種類 繁多,挑戰重新設計識別,和茶葉分類,並以有機茶為概念設計茶葉 包裝。 設計方向 我使用不一樣的顏色、字體、小圖去分類茶的種類。為了避免繁雜的 設計,每種茶品的排版都是一致,只是套用了顏色和字體去區分茶 品,簡單清爽,想帶出有機茶葉的自然純正的形象, 也讓消費者可以一眼就找到想要的茶品。

OBJECTIVE_

Create a short animation to promote a design magazine. The final work needed to be viewed on an iPad. The goal was to demonstrate various graphic animation techniques within the video. The challenge was to visually communicate graphics and draw a wider audience to the magazine. APPROACH_

動機與目的 挑戰以幾何圖形設計Idn雜誌為動態封面。

設計方向 將設計好的畫面放入利用After Effect裡編輯動畫。每個字母都幾何 圖形組成的,字母出現的轉換,也是由縮放、轉換的型態出現,最後的 畫面停留在靜態的雜誌畫面。配樂選用比較科幻和節奏名快的調性, 傳達雜誌本身的無限創意有如科幻般給人的驚喜。

The movement of geometric design was the basis of the visual concept. I created a distinct shape for each letter for the expression “Geometric Design”. All shapes were made from circles, triangles, squares and lines. I animated each element to become a letter, then recombined them to form another letter. The background music I chose was electronica, giving a modern and energetic feeling. The last step was to form all the elements into the design of a completed magazine front cover.
