Elaine Pamphilon and Christopher Marvell Elaine and Christopher live and work from their studios in Cambridge and St Ives Cornwall. They love the surrounding landscapes - line, colour and mark making on the land, provide constant inspiration for their work. They both follow the concept of drawing out the essential essence of form, retaining simplicity and are both definitely drawn towards the graphic tradition of folk art, and it’s narrative of story telling. Elaine and Christopher have spent 35 years thinking about - talking about - investigating and making art together. “This year has been so challenging and difficult for everyone. Working away for this exhibition during this quieter time, without normal interruptions, has made the importance of making paintings and sculptures more intense for us. We are so happy to share this collection of new work with you and hope that you enjoy looking through this catalogue many times.” April 2021
