The green sea urchin is a Japanese delicacy, and Maine is now the largest supplier on the east coast. David Tarr of Brooklin dives in Maine's frigid coastal waters from December through March.

'There's an initial shock when you first hit the water, but your face and lips go numb and you don't feel them anymore," says Tarr. A frozen face might just be worth it: Tarr brings home up to 900 pounds a day, worth as much as $1.30 per pound. It may not be easy being green, but there's a lot of green to be made.-Leischen Stelter

Before central airconditioning, Kenne¬ bunkport was the center of the summer theater universe. For a campy retro¬ spective of its heyday, don't miss The Kennebunkport Playhouse Revisited, the Kennebunkport Historical Society's great new show, which runs through the spring and includes original performance gowns worn by Jane Morgan ['Ten Most Intriguing People in Maine," November 2005]. Tuesday through Friday, 10-4. It's full of props, stage designs, souvenirs, and fascination personified. www.kporthistory.org.

After three Olympics, three World Cup wins, and a slew of other skiing achievements, what's next? These days, Maine's Julie Parisien chooses sippy cups over ski slopes. "I'm a full-time mom now," she says of her life with Alex, 4, Henry, 3, and Josephine, 1. The family lives in West Bloomfield, Michigan, while husband Tim Nuce attends medical school. "I miss Sugarloaf and Sunday River," says Parisien.

Maine just might get Parisien back. 'Tim's applying for residency at Maine Medical Center," she says. "We'd love to end up there!"

Time Warner cable subscribers choosing among alphabetical listings of Movies on Demand will be delighted to findBig and Hairy, written by Portland's own Brian Daly, among such blockbusters as The Aviator and Bridget Jones's Diary.

Big and Hairy, shot in Vancouver and produced for Showtime, stars Richard Thomas, of The Waltons fame.

"Brian Daly's a really good writer," says Marcy Gross, one of the film's executive producers. "He did a fantastic job." A book version ofBig and Hairy, published by Pocket Books, is available on amazon.com.

"That's great," says Daly when told of the availability of his film. There's a short silence. "But we don't have cable."

Talk about moving property. Ever innovative, Crandall Toothaker advertises new condominiums in \ Portland's Bayside for just $139,900, including "the WORKS. Newly renovated one-bedroom condominiums beautifully furnished and a brand new Honda Civic FOR REAL. Call Crandall 207-252-6264."

"We have a lot of tenants who want to buy [and] we have a lot of buildings we could turn into condos," says Toothaker. "[They] can't afford to furnish them when they buy them, so we thought lets furnish them. They can't afford car payments too so I said lets buy them a car.” Buyers get to choose their car color, and the condos include off-street parking. This may just put these sales in the fast lane.
