Can'tBeforeseverbebeautiful,too?

Maybe,forexample,agivenBeforewasshotinunflatteringlight.MaybeBeforewouldhave lookedbetterifittoohadbeenphotoshoppedandair-brushed,likeAfter.

ImetanAfteronce.IwaswritingastoryaboutaVictoriantownhousethathadbeengutted andre-styledtothelimitsofourcontemporarytaste.IwalkedstraightintothisAfter,agog.This Afterreallymadeagoodfirstimpression.ThisAfterwasthebomb.ThenIrealizedthatmany thingsaboutthisAfterwereataddisproportionate.Thesun-drenchedgraniteislandwasbig enoughtoconductthreesimultaneousautopsies.IactuallytriedtovisualizeitasaBefore,in blackandwhite(asallAftersaredoomedtobeoneday).Therewasawhiffofconspicuous consumption,evenifitwasuptocode.

Onthewhole,aBeforecostslessthananAfter.

Maybeit'sagoodthingrightnowthatwerecessionistashavetothinktwicebeforejumping inandcreatingshimmeringAfterswiththeboldlookofWhatever.Maybeweoughtto1ivewith ourBeforesalittlelonger,andletthemoment,ourlifestyles,andtheghostlyrhythmsofthe originalstructuresorlandscapestelluswhattodo.Maybeweshouldgivecredittoold-home buyers,orevenao/i-homebuyers,forbeinggreen.
