Angelfish Fun, water adjustment, and basic skill development are emphasized as the instructor guides guardians and children through this level.

PRESCHOOL LESSONS age: 3 year - 5 year

PRESCHOOL LESSONS | Age 3-5 Goldfish For the non-swimmer.

Pre-Penguin For the non-swimmer who can put face in the water and blow bubbles.

Pre-Otter Must be comfortable in the water and be able to do a front glide with kick for 5 ft. and unassisted back floats.

Pre-Seal Must be able to do back glides with kicking for 5 ft., front crawl with no side breathing for 10 ft., and five side breathing breaths with arms on wall.

If your child has had more than a 3-month break from swimming lessons, they should repeat the previous level as a refresher course.

Prices listed are the discounted rates for City of Portland residents. Non-residents are charged 40% more because they do not pay taxes that support PP&R.

Due to our current staffing levels we are not able to offer any private or semi-private lessons.

YOUTH-ADULT LESSONS age 6 & up

Penguin For the non-swimmer who can put face in the water and blow bubbles.

Otter Must be comfortable in the water and be able to do a front glide with kick for 10 ft. and unassisted back floats.

Polar Bear

Sea Lion Must be able to do back glides with kicking for 10 ft. (youth), front crawl with no side breathing for or 15 ft., and five side breathing breaths with arms on wall.

Must be comfortable in deep water and be able to swim front crawl with arms and side breathing for 30 feet and backstroke with arms for 30 feet.

Must be comfortable in the deep water and able to swim front crawl with side breathing for 50 ft. and backstroke for 50 ft.

Dolphin Must be comfortable in the deep water and be able to swim front crawl with side breathing for 25yds, back crawl for 25yds, and elementary backstroke for 25 yards.

Park Shark Must be comfortable in the deep water and be able to dive into the pool and swim front crawl for 50 yards, swim backstroke for 50 yards, and breaststroke for 50 yards.
