Esta Locomotiva nunca chega ao destino. De cada chegada faz nova partida. A Locomotiva ainda quase ontem partiu mas há quase seis meses que faz esquecidos pontos de chegada renovados pontos de partida. Desde dezembro que esta Locomotiva anda às voltas por Porto - São Bento, subindo ruas, escadas e fachadas; rasgando avenidas de ideias e largos de emoções; trazendo na carga arte, cultura e animação e como passageiros artistas, residentes e visitantes. Esta viagem, com tantas viagens dentro, não cessa de partir, e partir de novo. E, ainda, novamente partir. Para chegar onde? Onde quisermos que ela chegue, porque o que importa, mais do que o destino, é a viagem. 27 DE JUNHO

A Locomotiva apresenta mais uma iniciativa enquadrada no seu programa de arte urbana. Todos os portuenses e todos os viajantes foram convidados a participar no maior painel de azulejos da cidade, num total de 3.300 azulejos. A composição final, orientada pelo artista Miguel Januário (±MAISMENOS±), será integrada na fachada de um edifício na envolvente da Estação de São Bento.

No átrio de entrada da Estação de São Bento, os painéis de azulejo de Jorge Colaço retratam, a par de episódios monumentais da história, costumes populares dos lugares atravessados pelo comboio no início do século XX. Propõe-se um diálogo com estes painéis, atualizando o retrato das vidas dos lugares por onde hoje o comboio passa e leva. Este diálogo será estabelecido através da ilustração de artistas nacionais nas portas da Rua da Madeira, Rua Chã, Rua do Loureiro, Rua Vila de Cima, Rua do Cativo e Rua Porta do Sol, as ruas esquecidas. Portas que outrora esconderam vivências e que hoje expõem a realidade. PORTO, GRANITO E SONHO - TEATRO DE RUA ACE - TEATRO DO BOLHÃO 18H00 - 20H00 ESTAÇÃO DE SÃO BENTO, RUA DAS FLORES E LARGO DE S. DOMINGOS
“Porto, Granito e Sonho” é um evento teatral de rua sobre a natureza e o espírito de uma cidade que ao longo da sua história tem sido, simultaneamente, bastião político e comercial e pátria cultural e artística. Produzido pela ACE – Teatro do Bolhão para o projeto Locomotiva, o espetáculo evoca os últimos séculos portuenses num olhar de múltiplas dimensões: a sua vida quotidiana e os seus grandes momentos políticos. Da agitada e violenta primeira metade do século XIX marcada pelas invasões francesas, passando pelo Cerco e pela guerra civil, até ao discurso pela liberdade de Humberto Delgado, a memória do Porto constitui-se como um pano de fundo, argumento para imagens teatrais significativas a instalar no coração da Baixa portuense, deste modo transformada numa extraordinária cenografia épica do evento. Constituída por 43 painéis, a mostra é o resultado de um projeto que levou António Jorge Gonçalves a desenhar pessoas sentadas em carruagens de metro em 10 cidades nos cinco continentes. Percurso-pesquisa guiado por atores que parte da Estação de São Bento, sobe a Rua de Trás, segue pela Rua de São Bento da Vitória, repousa no Miradouro Da Vitória e termina com um piquenique ao pôr-do-sol, com música e literatura portuguesa à mistura, no Jardim Das Virtudes. O projeto pretende mostra os turistas (nacionais e internacionais) as atrativas caraterísticas do património material e imaterial do Centro Histórico do Porto.

This Locomotive never reaches its destination. In every arrival there is a new departure. The Locomotive has barely left but it has been transforming forgotten departure points into renewed arrival points for the past six months. Since December, this Locomotive has been circling Porto – São Bento Train Station, climbing up streets, staircases and façades; opening avenues of ideas and squares of emotions; transporting art, culture and entertainment as its cargo and artists, townspeople and visitors as its passengers. This journey, with so many journeys inside it, does not cease to depart, and depart once more. Only to depart yet again. Its destination? Wherever we want it to arrive, because what matters, more than the destination, is the journey itself. 27th JUNE

Lomomotive presents yet another initiative included in its urban art programme. All locals and visitors were invited to participate in the city’s biggest tile panel, with a total of 3,300 tiles. The final composition, guided by artist Miguel Januário (±MAISMENOS±), will integrate the façade of a building in the surrounding area of São Bento Station.

In the hall of São Bento Train Station, the tile panels by Jorge Colaço, along with important moments in Portuguese history, portray the popular customs of the places reached by the railway at the beginning of the 20th century. A dialogue with these panels is proposed, updating the portrayal of the lives of the places to where the train travels nowadays. This dialogue will be established by illustrations by Portuguese artists in the doorways of Rua da Madeira, Rua Chã, Rua do Loureiro, Rua Vila de Cima, Rua do Cativo and Rua Porta do Sol, the forgotten streets. Doorways that once hid life experiences and now expose the reality. “Porto, Granito e Sonho” [Porto, Granite and Dream] is a street theatre event in the nature and spirit of a city that, during the course of its history, has been, at the same time, a political and commercial beacon and cultural and artistic homeland. Produced by ACE – Teatro do Bolhão for the Locomotive project, this performance evokes the last centuries in the history of Porto through a multi-dimensional look; its day-to-day life and its biggest political moments. From the agitated and violent first half of the 19th century, characterised by the French invasions, the Siege and civil war, to the freedom speech by Humberto Delgado in 1958, Porto’s memory becomes a backdrop, an argument for significant theatrical images to be set up at the heart of the city centre, thus transformed in an extraordinary epic staging of the event. Survey-route guided by actors that departs from São Bento Train Station, goes up Rua de Trás, into Rua de São Bento da Vitória, rests on Vitória’s terrace and ends with a sunset picnic, with music and Portuguese literature in the mix, at the Jardim das Virtudes. The project intends to show tourists (national and international) the appealing characteristics of the material and non-material heritage of the Historical Centre of Porto.
