SOUL SUNDAYS Byblos’ Sunday sessions have launched with a cool new vibe. Soul Sundays provide the perfect way to wind down at the end of a weekend. Feast on fresh, delicious Middle Eastern cuisine, sip on a cocktail and soak up the smooth tunes between 3pm and 7pm.
d Wonderlan Portside Wharf has been abuzz with happy kids making the most of Brisbane’s coolest school holiday destination. The precinct was transformed into a winter wonderland to celebrate the start of winter with hundreds of colourful snowflakes and a giant pop-up ‘snow globe’ filled with confetti-style snow. Popular Disney princess Elsa also paid a visit to the precinct for a Frozen sing-a-long thanks to Dendy Cinema. If you snapped a pic of your little one with
Elsa, got an artistic shot of the snowflakes or took a pic of your favourite Portside winter dish, make sure you upload the photos to Instagram with the hashtag #PORTSIDEWINTER and tag @portsidewharf. Your ‘winter snaps’ will be in with a chance to win one of six $50 Hello Harry vouchers. Competition closes on July 14, with one winner drawn each week. View our website for terms and conditions.

A TRUE WINTER
delight
Byblos has put a delicious twist on the traditional ‘winter warmer’ menu launching a new cocktail list designed to warm you up from the inside. As this year marks Byblos’ 10th year at Portside Wharf, the team has been reminiscing on the years gone by, which has led to some seriously delicious concoctions on the new list. The ’Mi Padre’ is a true winter delight, inspired by ex-Byblos bartender Ryan Schinella - a lover of the Venezuelan rum, Pampero Anniversario. The cocktail is a combination of Pampero Anniversario, spiced rosé and pear syrup, allspice and liquorice root tincture with orange bitters, shaken and served over a single block of ice and smoked with orange peel and clove.
GRAFFITI ARTIST ADDS FLAVOUR TO BURGER JOINT No fuss burger joint Hello Harry is exactly that - no fuss, no frills, just simple, high quality ingredients with classic flavour combinations. The essence of the business is represented in its decor through rustic, raw furniture that is handmade by local businesses from reclaimed timber sourced from old Queenslanders. The hero piece of graffiti art expertly scrawled across one wall is the work of Sunshine Coast artist Matt Clancy. Owners Scott Hoskings and two-hatted chef Tony Kelly believe in working with the community and have engaged Matt to ‘spruce up’ all of their restaurants, with the freedom to create unique graffiti-style art to add character. But don’t get too used to the artwork, Matt drops into Hello Harry to refresh the mural regularly.

BUON NATALE
in July
Celebrate Christmas in July the Italian way at Gusto da Gianni on Sunday, July 24. Live music and authentic Italian cuisine make for a laid back Sunday afternoon filled with great food, wine and conversation. Relax along the banks of the Brisbane River at Brisbane’s longest peasant table as you feast on home made Italian pates, spit roasted whole suckling pig, slow braised lamb shoulder and a whole lot more. Tickets are selling fast on the back of a very popular event last year, where over 200 people indulged in the traditional Italian fare. Bookings are essential so make sure you secure your spot at the table for just $65 which includes a starter, entree, the main affair and dessert.
Warm up
WITH BAKED HOT CHOCOLATE Max Brenner is bringing sheer decadence in a cup this winter with its new Baked Hot Chocolate. Make sure you hurry, as it is only available until the end of August!
