School board members were treated to a video used to apply for the grant during their monthly meeting last Monday, November 14. The video featured building principals as well as assistant superintendent Dr. Angela Wannemuehler and superintendent Dr. Todd Camp. Each spoke about goals and opportunities in which the funds would be directed to help students hone their computer skills. Camp stated that a lot of hard work went into creating the video and he commended the team for their efforts in securing the grant. The board also approved the following: • A three-year contract with Tri

State Community Clinics to provide medical service to employees. Camp discussed that since the county and MSD of Mount Vernon also partner in the program, it helps share the costs of the clinic. When we go to

“This new plan, our new project here, will allow us to double the amount of kids we take in. Where we could only take in 20 Pre-K, we can take in 40 Pre-K. Where we took in 10 to 12 to 15 Preschool, we could take on possibly 30 Preschool students,” Scheu comments. Saint Wendel Preschool currently enrolls three and four year olds, who are completely potty trained. The three-year-olds must be three as of August 1. The proposed expansion would permit an option for a class of two and three year olds, as long as they are completely potty trained. Two-year-olds wouldn’t need to be two by a certain date, but would need to meet the requirement of being completely potty trained. “It could be, if parents needed it
