Orlando, Florida – (April 5, 2016)- A group of non-profit organizations led by the Mt. Sinai Education Committee collaborated with medical robotic companies, local colleges and universities to organize an advanced STEM symposium at the state-of-the-art Nicholson Center in Celebration, Florida. The one-day symposium provided students with hands-on and academic exposure to cutting edge robotic technology used in neuro-spine, urology, GYN/GYN Oncology, general, ENT, and cardiothoracic surgery. Central Florida-based Mazor Robotics, who uses the Nicholson Center to train surgeons on their Renaissance® technology, provided access to equipment for the event with clinical representatives to conduct the sessions with the students. Notable attendees at the event included: Florida House of Representatives member, Victor Manuel Torres, Jr and City of Orlando, District Two commissioner Tony Ortiz.
