ORLANDO’S FIFTH ANNUAL INDIA DAY CELEBRATION ANNOUNCED Cultural Street Fest and NBA Heritage Night with the Orlando Magic
December 12, 2016 (Orlando, Florida) – The Indian American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) is leading Orlando’s 5th annual India Day Celebration in Downtown Orlando on February 25, 2017. India Day is designed to broaden awareness of the Indian-American heritage, culture and music in Central Florida. The day kicks off with a street festival showcasing traditional Indian dance and food and ends with participation in the evening’s Orlando Magic game versus the Atlanta Hawks. The Street Festival will be held in front of the Amway Center from 3pm to 6pm and is free to the public. For the evening’s NBA game, the Orlando Magic Dancers will perform in traditional Bollywood style during halftime. The IACC has committed to helping fill the Amway Center during what the NBA has named “Best Heritage Night in the NBA” in 2014 and 2015. The India Day Celebration is produced by a volunteer committee from the IACC by: Dr. Amish M. Parikh (Chair, India Day) and Dr. Varesh Patel (Co-Chair, India Day and President, IACC). The team is expecting Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to proclaim February 25, 2017 as India Day in Orlando.
