WALDORF ASTORIA ORLANDO AND BRIDGES OF LIGHT ANNOUNCE CULINARY ADVENTURE MENU FOR THE 13th ANNUAL PLAYERS BALL “AN EMMIE AFFAIR”
Orlando, Florida (August 26, 2015) – The Bridges of Light Foundation (BOL) has been giving the gift of education to at-risk Central Florida youth since 2004 and relies on a large portion of their income from their annual gala. The Annual Players Ball is a local favorite on the Central Florida “fall-ball” scene.
Now in its thirteen year, the planning team has informed guests to “Expect the Unexpected.” They are presenting “AN EMMIE AFFAIR” at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando, on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 6pm. This year they unveil EMMIE, the education owl in the new logo. Her name has come to symbolize the core values of the Foundation as it is an acronym for "Educate, Mentor, Motivate, Inspire, and Empower."
The annual gala is known for its culinary experience, this year designed by the renowned Francis Metais, Director of Luxury Food and Beverage for the Hilton Americas and by Bernard Fiedmeyer, Executive Chef Waldorf Astoria Orlando. The five course meal is paired with wine and customized cocktails to infuse flavors and elevate the culinary experience. The menu ingredient list includes items such as: Langoustine Zefir, Rock Shrimp Nantua, Braised Short Rib and Shrimp Oscar Mouse.
There will be a spectacular silent auction and dinner will be followed by musical performances, a live auction and a celebration of the accomplishments over the last year. The evening wraps up with a dance party into the late hours.
