The Norwegian Association of Hunters and Anglers has around 117,000 members and is Norway’s only nation-wide organisation for both hunters and anglers. The Association’s primary mission is to ensure that opportunities for hunting and angling continue to be available for the general public in the future. It is also the largest organisation in Norway to hold courses in hunting, and about three quarters of all those who take the hunting proficiency test have studied with the Association. Two stamps are issued on 11 June. The stamps have been designed by Kristin Slotterøy.

Cecilie Sørgård’s first two stamps in the "pets/domesticated animals" series were issued in 2019. The motifs were the Norwegian Elkhound and the Norwegian Forest Cat. The stamps were well received and were only available for franking for a short time. Sørgård’s next two motifs in the series are now set to be released, this time featuring a pig and a calf under the theme of "domesticated animals". The Norwegian Philatelic Association is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. The occasion was due to be celebrated with a stamp exhibition and a national meeting in Trondheim in June. However, due to the pandemic, this has been rescheduled for 3-5 September. We extend our congratulations to the Association and look forward to continuing our great relationship. We wish all our readers a very happy summer!

For collectors London Stamps

London Stamps 1943 On 1 January 1943, a series of six stamps was issued by the Norwegian government in exile in London to be used on mail posted at sea on Norwegian merchant ships and naval vessels. The stamps were later also used on the island of Jan Mayen. Together with two new denominations, 5 and 7 øre, the stamps were taken into use from 30 April 1945 in the liberated Finnmark. They became valid for use throughout Norway after the country was liberated.
