The Canadian Country Music Association Awards Show comes to SaskTel Centre, Sept. 10. Get the party started and set the mood for the high energy CCMA Awards Show with the TD Countdown Concert from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. outside of SaskTel Centre. With a fun, festival atmosphere, the CCMA Awards Countdown Concert will feature some of your favourite Canadian country music artists. The John Deere Green Carpet starts
at 2:45 p.m. A perfect opportunity to star gaze: If you’re a fan of Canadian country artists and personalities, the John Deere Green Carpet is the place to be. Nominated artists, performers, presenters and special guests walk the carpet and interact with fans and media along the way. Fans are encouraged to get to the FanZone early for prime spots to get a glimpse of, and cheer on, their favourite stars. Canadian country music fans, artists and industry alike, look forward to the CCMA Awards show every year—Canadian country music’s biggest night. As a salute to the year that’s been, this two-hour celebration
features performances and appearances by some of Canada’s brightest country stars and announces winners in eight award categories. With feature performances by Dean Brody, James Barker Band, Brett Kissel, Jess Moskaluke, Dallas Smith and international guest Blake Shelton. One of Ireland’s best loved artists, Daniel O’Donnell has announced that he will return to in Canada this fall. The tour will see the record breaking chart singer play SaskTelCentreonSaturday,September16. Daniel burst into superstardom in the USA and Canada in 2002 with his first ever PBS special – The Dan-
iel O’Donnell Show. That began a special relationship between Daniel and PBS and since then, he has recorded a further thirteen specials, with ‘Back Home Again’ being his fourteenth one in 2016. The concert also features Daniel’s longterm singing partner Mary Duff. The Irish singer made record-breaking chart history earlier this year by becoming thefirstrecordingartistinthehistoryofthe
UK Artist Album Chart to have charted at least one new album every year since 1988, an unprecedented and unbroken 30 year span, surpassing everyone from Michael Jackson, the Rolling Stones, Madonna and Irish strongholds U2.
