Regular and Public Hearing meetngs of City Council are broadcast live on Channel 10 startng at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., respectvely. DRIVERS REMINDED TO SLOW DOWN DURING SCHOOL ZONE HOURS

Back to school season means school zones are once again in effect Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from September 1 to June 30.

During these hours, speed limits are decreased to 30 km/h in all school zones across the city. Reducing your speed only adds 12 seconds of travel tme when driving through the average school zone.

WÎCIHITOWIN ABORIGINAL ENGAGEMENT CONFERENCE

A reduced speed limit in school zones is designed to give drivers and pedestrians more tme to react to unexpected or emergency situatons.

The City of Saskatoon reminds drivers that u-turns in school zones are also prohibited to maintain safety for students and drivers.

When drivers perform u-turns, blind spots quickly change, preventng drivers from having a contnuous, clear view of actvity in the area around the vehicle. Children who are walking, running or playing in the area may not antcipate a vehicle’s sudden and unexpected change in directon which can lead to dangerous situatons.

City Hall will be closed and City of Saskatoon civic services and facilites will operate with statutory holiday hours. Visit saskatoon.ca for a complete listng of holiday service hours.
