PROPOSED KENSINGTON NEIGHBOURHOOD CONCEPT PLAN AMENDMENT Saskatoon City Council will consider an amendment to the Kensington Neighbourhood Concept Plan proposed by Saskatoon Land. Three Multi-Unit Street Townhouse (ST) development sites, located on south side of Nightingale Rd and on the east and west sides of Kensington Blvd, are proposed to be amended to Multi-Unit Group Townhouse on the Concept Plan. REASON FOR THE AMENDMENT - The existing Street Townhouse (ST) designation on the Concept Plan only permits street townhouses to be developed on these parcels. Removal of the (ST) designation will provide for other forms of development permitted under the RMTN – Townhouse Residential District to be considered on these sites. Any development proposed on the sites would have to comply with all development standards of the RMTN District.

THE REMAI MODERN ART GALLERY OF SASKATCHEWAN BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND THE SASKATOON GALLERY AND CONSERVATORY CORPORATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES The Trustees are responsible for ensuring that the Gallery fulfills its mandate which is summarized as follows: • The establishment and maintenance in the City of Saskatoon of art galleries, art schools, museums, exhibitions, collections, workshops for the exhibition, preservation, collection, development, creation and encouragement of works of art; • Encouraging the development and appreciation of the fine arts with particular emphasis on the visual arts including the provision for education programs and extension services; and • The establishment and maintenance of an art collection in conjunction with any gallery, museum, exhibition or otherwise of fine art. Trustees, in addition to being appointed to the Remai Modern Art Gallery of Saskatchewan Board of Trustees, will also be appointed to Saskatoon Gallery and Conservatory Corporation Board of Trustees. The Board is comprised of 6 to 14 members and currently includes two City Councillors and twelve members of the general public. New appointments will take effect after the annual general meeting of the Board to be held in spring. The following qualifications are desirable for service on this Board: • Financial and business experience with sufficient knowledge of and attention to budgetary matters in order to ensure financially sound operation of the art galleries and their assets; • Sufficient interest, ability and contacts in the community to be an effective advocate on behalf of the art galleries – to promote their well-being and development. This implies belief in the importance and value of our publicly supported gallery to the community; • A willingness to promote and to represent the interests of the art galleries first and foremost; • Willingness to give sufficient time for attending Committee and Board meetings, for reading reports, attending functions, etc., and for thinking about current and future needs of the art galleries; • Readiness to commit to 2 terms (i.e., approximately 4 years) on the Board; • Fundraising experience with a readiness to participate in various fundraising activities from public and private sectors; • Readiness and ability to accept executive responsibility on the Board; • Willingness to participate as necessary in the selection and evaluation of the Executive Director; and, • Indigenous relations experience. The Board meets monthly, on the third Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. There are no Board meetings in July or August. There is no remuneration paid to Board members. PROPOSED HOLMWOOD SECTOR PLAN AMENDMENT Saskatoon City Council will consider an Amendment for the Holmwood Sector Plan, submitted by Long Range Planning. The Holmwood Suburban Development Area is located on the east edge of Saskatoon. The Holmwood Sector Plan was originally approved by City Council in 2012, and outlines the City’s vision for future growth in the area. The following amendments are being proposed: • The addition of access points from College Drive • The realignment of Taylor Street East, McOrmond Drive and Zimmerman Road • Reconfiguration of the size and shape of neighbourhoods south of 8th Street East • Reconfiguration of the Suburban Centre and Business Park areas to include a defined residential neighbourhood area between them • Addition of a new District Village area • Re-designation of a portion of land to Future Residential status • Updated Phasing Plan This Sector Plan provides a framework that identifies possible land uses, arterial road alignments, access points into the sector, servicing, major transit routes, and a phasing strategy.

To deal with appeals arising from assessment procedures in accordance with Section 197 of The Cities Act.

Saskatoon License Appeals Board

1 year

As required, dependent upon number of appeals received.

To deal with appeals relating to licenses issued under The Business License Bylaw, 2002, The License Bylaw, The Adult Services Licensing Bylaw, 2012, and The Taxi Bylaw, 2014.

City Mortgage Appeals Board

2 years

As required, dependent upon number of appeals received.

To adjudicate all requests for forgiveness of City mortgages that may arise out of the City’s lot allocation policy.

Access Transit Appeals Board

2 years

As required, dependent upon number of appeals received.

To hear appeals filed by those who are denied Access Transit Service.

Development Appeals Board

2 years

As required – Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. (twice monthly on average, depending on number of appeals received.)

To hear appeals under various sections of The Planning and Development Act, 2007, relating to issues such as minor variances and misapplication of Zoning Bylaw in issuing development permits.

Property Maintenance Appeals Board

2 years

As required – first and third Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m.

To review and determine the appeal of any person aggrieved by an order made by a municipal inspector.

Private Swimming Pools Appeals Board

2 years

As required, dependent upon number of appeals received.

To deal with appeals issued under the Swimming Pools Bylaw.

Waste Management Appeals Board

2 years

As required, dependent upon number of appeals received.

To hear and determines appeals filed against an order made by a municipal inspector.

Meewasin Valley Authority Appeals Board

3 years

As required.

To review appeals on development applications that the Meewasin Valley Authority has turned down to ensure that the Authority has dealt with the application fairly.

To provide policing service to maintain a reasonable standard of law enforcement and to provide adequate and reasonable facilities.

Centennial Auditorium and Convention Centre Corporation Board of Directors (TCU Place) (See separate ad for more detail.)

Monthly – last Thursday at 12:00 p.m. Annual general membership meeting in spring.

To direct the operations of TCU Place in a manner that ensures proper maintenance of the facility, provides premiere services for the performing arts, and provides a full range of services for meetings and conventions in the City of Saskatoon.

Six meetings per year on third Wednesday of the month at 4:00 p.m.

To provide a governance role for the municipal library system and to ensure that library programing, services and facilities meet the needs of the City of Saskatoon.

Marr Residence Management Board

Monthly – second Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. A commitment is also required for summer programming, board subcommittees and Marr special events.

To manage all aspects of the Marr Residence property.

The Remai Modern Art Gallery of Saskatchewan and The Saskatoon Gallery and Conservatory Corporation Board of Trustees (See separate ad for more detail.)

Monthly – third Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.

To provide for the establishment and maintenance in the City of Saskatoon of art galleries and related functions and to encourage the development and appreciation of fine arts. Trustees will be appointed to both gallery boards during the transition period.

SaskTel Centre Board of Directors (See separate ad for more detail.)

Monthly – first Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.

To promote, operate, manage, maintain, and improve the SaskTel Centre.

Please note the following: • All appointments are served on a volunteer basis, except the Municipal Review Commission, Board of Revision, the Development Appeals Board, the License Appeals Board, the Private Swimming Pools Appeals Board, the Waste Management Appeals Board, and the Property Maintenance Appeals Board, whose members receive a remuneration for each meeting attended. • All Boards, Commissions and Committees listed may not currently have vacancies; however, citizens are encouraged to apply as openings may become available throughout the year. • Existing members of Committees are eligible for reappointment to a maximum of six consecutive years of service; however, reappointment is not automatic. • City Council has resolved that appointments to Boards, Commissions and Committees be truly representative of the population of women and men of the city of Saskatoon and therefore, wishes to achieve gender equity for all Boards, Commissions and Committees. Council has also adopted a Cultural Diversity and Race Relations Policy. • The information provided on the number of meetings held relates only to meetings of the Board, Commission or Committee. Many of these bodies appoint subcommittees, and the demands on the member’s time may exceed that shown. The time commitment for an average meeting is one to two hours.
