NOTICE OF PUBLIC CONSULTATION Saskatoon Municipal Wards Commission – June 19, 2019
The Saskatoon Municipal Wards Commission is seeking insight and informa%on from ci%zens of Saskatoon as the Commission looks to establish new ward boundaries for the municipal/school boards’ elec%ons on November 9, 2020. Interested ci%zens are invited to review current ward boundaries and projected growth areas, and present their thoughts at the first of two public consulta%ons: Wednesday, June 19, 2019 7:00 PM Commi!ee Room “E” City Hall (Door No. 1 – 4th Avenue entrance) Public parking available in the City Hall staff lot a"er 6:00 PM Or, share your comments on ward boundary changes online at saskatoon.ca/engage. All public input will be received and taken into considera%on by the Commission. Once ward boundaries have been dra"ed, a second public mee%ng will be held in the fall to receive input prior to a final decision being made. Ward 5,7,8 and 10 need to have new boundaries established to ensure equal representa%on. PUBLIC NOTICE INTENT TO BORROW
City Council will be considering a report from the Administra%on at a Council mee%ng to be held on Monday, June 24th, 2019 at 6:00 p.m., Council Chambers, City Hall recommending: 1) That the following planned borrowing in the form of an internal line of credit be approved: a) up to $20 million for Civic Facili%es Energy and Water Monitoring (Capital Project 2568) from the General Account long-term investment por&olio, amor%zed over a 25 year period; b) an allowable 10% variance on the borrowing requirements for the project iden%fied. Any variance greater than 10% of the borrowing amount iden%fied must be reported to City Council; and 2) That a one-%me exemp%on be approved to allow for an investment with a maturity term exceeding 10 years. The Ci!es Act and The Public No%ce Policy Bylaw No. 8171 require that City Council give public no%ce before borrowing money, lending money or guaranteeing the repayment of a loan.
