ZONING NOTICE

PROPOSED ZONING BYLAW AMENDMENT – BYLAW NO. 9655 Saskatoon City Council will consider an amendment to the City’s Zoning Bylaw (No. 8770) to provide addi$onal regula$ons for development of specific sites adjacent to the South Saskatchewan River. By way of Bylaw No. 9655, The Zoning Amendment Bylaw, 2019 (No. 20), the Zoning Bylaw will be amended to include these regula$ons through a Riverbank Slope Overlay District. REASON FOR THE AMENDMENT – Based on review of condi$ons on the east and west riverbanks, two areas were iden$fied on the east riverbank as being most suscep$ble to slumping and slope failure. These areas are iden$fied as Zone 1 and Zone 2 in the Riverbank Overlay Zoning District and are shown on the map below.

PUBLIC NOTICE NEW WARD BOUNDARIES

The Municipal Wards Commission has established new ward boundaries for the City of Saskatoon, which will become effec$ve with the municipal elec$on to be held Monday, November 9, 2020. The report of the Municipal Wards commission, including a map of the new ward boundaries, is available for viewing in the Office of the City Clerk between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL COMMUNITY PLAN – BYLAW NO. 9654 Saskatoon City Council will consider an amendment to the Official Community Plan, Bylaw (No. 8769). By way of Bylaw No. 9654, The Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw, 2019 (No. 6) the Official Community Plan will be amended to add a new sec$on that will provide objec$ves and policies specific to the management of lands that are subject to slumping and slope instability. The policies will provide for reasonable development in the defined area while maintaining the integrity of the riverbank. Policies will iden$fy that the tool for implementa$on will be an overlay zoning district that will define the area and contain the addi$onal development standards required for development.
