I LOVE THE 90s It is a 90’s dream come true! If you grew up in the ‘90s or just love nostalgia, this throwback concert will be a blast! Salt-N-Pepa with Spinderella broke ground as female MCs, blazed trails and dominated the charts with hits like “Whatta Man” and “Shoop.” Vanilla Ice came to the ‘90s party, dropping jaws with the anthemic “Ice Ice Baby,” and Young MC taught everyone how to “Bust a Move.”

Color Me Badd and Rob Base round out the roster of huge ‘90s chart-toppers in I Love The 90’s Tour, the raucously fun concert is coming to SaskTel Centre. The I Love The 90’s Tour kicked off with a few shows in the spring of 2016 but popular demand quickly turned it into a North American phenomena and it makes it way to SaskTel Centre on April 2, 2017. Tickets are on-sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets.

The Monster Truck Challenge features five of the world’s toughest monster trucks. The MotocrossArenacross involvesawesomehigh flying motocross action by expert drivers with nerves of steel racing on the challenging and dangerous SaskTel Centre Arenacross track and also back by popular demand the Radical Jump Contest. The Canadian Tuff Truck Competition where audiences will see the toughest drivers in the toughest trucks in a nail biting thrill as drivers and truck race against the clock on the rugged Tuff Truck Track. And the Free Style Motocross with Radical Jump Showcase. This event will bring some of Canada’s top performance jumpers in a Radical Jump showcase. Show time is 7 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 1 p.m. April 29 and again at 7 p.m. on April 29. Adults are $27.50; students $22.50 and children under 12 are $17.50.

ICONIC BAND RETURNS TO SASKATOON S U B M I T T E D BY T C U PL AC E

This past October one of Canada’s most iconic bands, Blue Rodeo, released their 14th studio album titled 1000 Arms. The group also announced that they will head back out on the road in 2017 performing news songs for fans with 30 concerts scheduled in 23 cities, beginning January 11, 2017 in Thunder Bay. They play Saskatoon’s TCU Place, Jan. 17. 1000 Arms was recorded over the winter of 2015 and 2016 at Blue Rodeo’s Woodshed Studios. The album shares its name with the Jim Cuddy-penned song inspired by a podcast Jim was listening to. “The podcast was about allowing your community to help you,” says Cuddy. “When we were going over titles, we were thinking about our musical community, what it means to us and how much we would do for each other. That was what we were thinking about the most, so it seemed like an appropriate title.” The 12-track record was coproduced and engineered by Tim Vesely, a founding member of the Rheostatics. Cuddy and his long-

time bandmate Greg Keelor credit Vesely with helping influence the sound of the new album. The engineer had been listening to some of the band’s older records and commented that Jim and Greg weren’t singing together as much as they used to. The revelation caught the

Two tours collide at TCU Place

S U B M I T T E D BY T C U PL AC E

What happens when two tours collide? Find out on Jan. 12 when Tim Hicks brings his Shake These Walls tour and Chad Brownlee brings the Hearts on Fire tour to TCU Place. An award-winning singer, songwriter, philanthropist and former NHL draft pick (for the Vancouver Canucks), country music artist Chad Brownlee is by definition a renaissance man. With over a billion radio impressions to date, his singles have rapidly climbed the country music charts, with multiple singles cracking the na-

tional Top 10, including his last two “Hearts On Fire” and “I Hate You For It”. Brownlee recently released his latest single “Somethin’ We Shouldn’t Do”. The five-time gold certified Tim Hicks released “Shake These Walls”, the follow-up to 2014’s CCMA Award nominated sophomore album 5:01/5:01+ on September 9th. The album is a combination of slick party-fueled anthems, blue collar country and free-spirited romance, shaping the evolution of an artist the Toronto Star named “one to watch” and one who remains intent on leading the pace within an evolving musical landscape. Special guest Tenille Arts will be opening the night for Hicks and Brownlee at TCU Place Jan. 12. Tickets are available at www. tcutickets.ca.
