Convocation November 13 Convocation is always a special celebration at the University of Saskatchewan (USask). The ceremony marks the end of one journey and the beginning of new possibilities and opportunities for our graduates. As well as awarding degrees, certificates and diplomas to more than 900 students this fall, we celebrate our newest honorary degree recipient, earned doctor recipient, distinguished researcher, master teacher and student award recipients.
At our fall convocation, we will hold a ceremony to officially welcome Grit McCreath as the university’s newest chancellor. The chancellor presides over all meetings of convocation and senate, and is the ceremonial head of the university. McCreath has held many roles at USask, giving her time and energy for the better part of 20 years. Most recently, McCreath was named the university’s inaugural honorary ambassador, a role she has held since 2015.
