Make that three cars. Concerns about the safety of park users have reared their head again, after a single vehicle accident on Thursday saw a car go through the fence near the Church Street roundabout. This follows a serious accident in 2009, and another in February 2012, when a ute barrelled through the fence, struck a light post and pulled up metres short of the children’s bike track. “I’m going to see if I can get a crash barrier installed to protect the park.” Ms Parker said that she would take it up with the Minister as soon as she can.
