Millions to help homeless MILLIONS of pounds are set to be spent tackling the increasing number of homeless people around Bognor Regis. Modular housing and building council houses in garage areas are among the measures due to be proposed by Arun District Council as the cash becomes available. The ambitious schemes are expected to be included in the strategy of a property company the council is setting up. Approval of the new firm was
postponed from the council's budget meeting on Wednesday. But it is expected to be completed by the summer. The intended projects were revealed by the council's Conservative majority as they decisively rejected a proposal by the Lib Dems to spend ÂŁ500,000 on new hostels for homeless families to stop them having to go on to the streets or be housed in B&Bs. the council's leader of the opposition, said the hostels were a response to a sad situation which blighted everyone's lives. "Homeless families are a concern for the individuals and for our society.
