INFORMATION boards for a £3m regeneration scheme in Bognor Regis will be installed in the next month. THe arrival of the notices will be the first physical sign of the Pavilion Park which Arun District Council intends to create. A council spokesman said: "It is anticipated that the information boards will be installed during February or early March. "THey will provide the public with

some general information about what is planned for inclusion in the new Pavilion Park." THe park will be formed from the current Hothamton car park, off Queensway, and the adjoining children's play area and the Sunken Garden. It has attracted criticism for replacing the garden amid claims the new green space will be smaller than the existing area when the car parking spaces and
other features are included. Arun also intends to market an area of the site for two blocks of flats. One of the scheme's fiercest critics, Cllr Matt Stanley (LD, Marine) said Arun's Conservative leaders had hidden away from discussing the park with residents. "THey have now failed to attend four public meetings on the subject," he said. "Rather than answer the community's questions and debate the issues
democratically, they have simply taken the decision to surround the Hothamton Sunken Garden with four information boards. "Is this one board for each meeting they have missed? "An inanimate sign does not constitute good community consultation. We need a well planned and well executed public exhibition as well as public meetings See page five
