Selsey students working in one of the temporary classrooms
New academy will rise BY RUTH SCAMMELL ruth.scammell@sussexpost.co.uk EDUCATION on the Manhood Peninsula will be transformed under plans for two new schools.
THe Kemnal Academies Trust has pledged to build the modern facilities on the site of the Selsey Academy wrecked by fire last August. THe cost of the far-reaching scheme is still to be determined because tenders for the work have yet to be sent out. But the
trust intends the new classrooms to be ready in about two years. Trust director of education David Linsell said: "Over the coming months, we will be consulting with staff and parents at both Seal Primary Academy and THe Academy Selsey, the local authorities
and the Department for Education and I encourage those in the local community to share their views on how they would like the site to develop. Open meetings will be taking place during January where people can come and share their views." Continued on page 7
