Residents asked to help plan for the next 20 years in Chichester
Help shape our future! BY RUTH SCAMMELL ruth.scammell@sussexpost.co.uk IT'S a huge project which is set to change the future of Chichester and now you are being asked to share your views. Chichester District Council has launched a big consultation in relation to The Chichester Vision - a plan to enhance
the city centre to boost the economy and attract investment over the next 20 years. Due to launch at the end of the month, the consultation gives members of the public in the city and beyond the opportunity to share their views about how to improve the city for future generations. Councillor Tony Dignum, leader of Chichester District Council, said: "A key
theme is that our vision is your vision - a vision for our residents, workers, visitors and students. "The vision's aim is to establish a framework in which we can protect the essence of our past while enhancing the future vitality of our city. "We want to ensure our future as the cultural capital of West Sussex, as a place of learning, and as a leading retail and
commercial centre." Once the public consultation has finished, views and feedback will be considered. The final vision will be prepared for adoption by the district council, West Sussex County Council and Chichester City Council. Continues on page 7.
