More homes at Graylingwell BY KELLY WICKHAM kelly.wickham@sussexpost.co.uk OVER 200 new homes have been approved by Chichester District Council. THe homes are part of an application for the Graylingwell Hospital site in College Lane. At the Planning Committee Meeting on Wednesday the councillors unanimously

voted to approve the revised application after the original application in 2014 was deferred for negotiations and further information. Included in the proposals were 216 new dwellings, of which 40% will be affordable housing. Plans were also approved for the relocation of the children's play area, a pavilion on Havenstoke Park for community facilities and as sports

changing rooms, a chapel and a residential care home. THe site of Graylingwell Park has a key characteristic of a parkland setting of the buildings spaced between significant areas of green open space and mature trees. THe recommendations to permit the development subject to completion of the associated section 106 agreement were met with positive responses from

I think the main concern has in fact been the slowness of the development and how long it has taken to get the community facilities in to place.
