at the Royal Theatre in Victoria, BC, sparking a career that saw him touring by 16 and eventually—with his band, The Persuaders—opening for the likes of Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy and Albert Collins. After a European tour with The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Gogo scored a solo record deal and released an acclaimed, self-titled debut. Though rock-influenced, Gogo’s most enduring interest has been blues, evident in his gritty chops, sinuous slide and gravelly vocals. It’s also the inspiration for his latest release, Come on Down (2013), for which he undertook a special pilgrimage down the Blues Trail, a historic route that connects blues history through Memphis, Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama. “There was something about being there. Breathing the air, eating the food, playing with local musicians,” Gogo reflects. “This was more than a holiday. It was a

Or at least, six degrees of Bill Henderson. Henderson is the pivotal figure in the Chilliwack legacy. While others have come and gone, Henderson has helmed the band, ushering it into a new identity from the departure of Howie Vickers in 1969, the year the band dropped the moniker The Collectors and reincarnated itself as Chilliwack. And for Henderson, at least, it would seem time is a rubber band. The singer and guitarist still hits all the high notes, performing with an energy that puts younger musicians to shame long since he and his band proved its mettle. Now, over 40 years later, with 15 platinum records and nothing to prove, Chilliwack has come out with the live album There and Back that showcases them once again at the top of their game. my daughter is at CAM and having fun while she’s learning. I can go to work knowing that she’s safe…”

“As a school that works primarily with students who struggle with substance abuse, we must always be aware of what life direction we are pointing them in. Music may be a vital piece along the path of healing for some of our students but it is not likely going to work for them to make a living playing in bars/pubs for obvious reasons. I only make mention of this as pointing our students in a new and positive direction in life is a vital part of what we do at Rite Trak. Mere words cannot express our gratitude to the instructors at CAM for giving their time, their energy, and their mentorship.” – The Staff of Rite Trak–ISS Institutional Schools.

Studies confirm the importance of keeping kids engaged between 3 – 7pm as this is when many are left alone and can be negatively influenced.
