International Students' Day
International Students' Day was established in 1941 in London at The International Meeting of Students, who fought against fascism, and was set to commemorate the massacre of student demonstrators in German-occupied Prague in 1939. This holiday is associated withyouth, romance and fun, but its history, which began inCzechoslovakia during the Second World War, is bloody and sad. On the 17th of November in 1939, many leaders of the Czechoslovakian Union of Students were arrested and executed by German fascist occupation troops. More than a thousand students and teachers were sent to concentration camps and universities were closed. International Students' Day brings young people all over the world together, unites them despite the difference between the color of the skin, language and traditions. Currently, Students' Day is a symbolic union of all faculties and all educational institutions.
