Soccer club "New York Red Bulls" The New York Red Bulls are an American professional soccer club based in the New York with team headquarters located in New Jersey. The club participates in Major League Soccer and plays in Red Bull Arena, in Harrison, New Jersey, which recently opened for the 2010 MLS season. Until 2010, the New York Red Bulls played their home matches at the Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The team has gone through several name changes. Their first name was the New York/New Jersey MetroStars from 1997. Since the 1998 season to the 2005 season, the team was known as the MetroStars. On March 9, 2006, Red Bull Inc. bought the team leading to the final renaming of the team.
The team's best result was during the 2008 seasons when the team won the MLS Cup final. In the US Open Cup, the New York Red Bulls reached three semifinals.
