PGMAG: Lamisi, welcome to today’s interview with Lady Anita.

LA: Thank you.

PGMAG: Please briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

LA: Lamisi is a trained fashion designer but I run an African NGO called The Strong Woman Africa where I support women in entrepreneurship, personal development in capacity-buildings to rural women, economic development in agribusiness and fashion.

PGMAG: As a leader, what are some of the keys to becoming more valuable in the marketplace?

LA: Showing leadership skils is important, excellent communication is also key also identify potentials to help them develop their potential. As a good leader I listen and show compassion and advocate on their behalf.

PGMAG: Please tell us about your Tv shows.

LA: TheScope is a Christian entertainment show where we educate, entertain and train on personal lifestyle and how to gain confidence in yourself. My segment basically help viewers transform and finding solutions in diverse areas of fashion and lifestyle. The show also help the needy to get career development.

PGMAG: Most cultures prevent women from taking lead role, and as an African woman in leadership position, what are your views on this challenge?

LA: Cultures have change and cultures are changing and there is a need to advocate more for backward cultures that are not deepening the support mechanism that women need to develop themselves and national policies must be in bearded in the gender policies must made it from schools in a way that in selecting or electing leadership it must be 50,50 or 60,40. African governments must criminalise culture that is demeaning towards women development.

PGMAG: What should our government be doing more to support women and men in business?

LA: Government must create a the leverage and a more conducive environment to support women in business.

PGMAG: Who would be your ideal lunch date, and what would be the topic for discussion?

LA: Michelle Obama WHAT LESSONS DID SHE LEARN BEING THE FIRST LADY AND WHAT ADVICE THAT WILL HELP EVERY WOMAN. EVERY WOMAN IS A FIRST LADY IN YOUR HOME.

PGMAG: Finally, what would you say to your younger self?

LA:

Find a mentor...I never really had a mentor. I think having a strong female mentor would have really helped me along the way, especially when I was all alone and guided because I was an orphan it made me make so many mistakes in my life.
