Aaron Sherinian
Aaron Sherinian serves as Vice-President for Global Communications Transformation at Philip Morris International. He joined the company in 2018 as part of the PMI's communications efforts supporting PMI's historic transformation to a smoke-free future. His work focuses on constructive engagement with civil society groups and communications leaders. This portfolio includes forging innovative communications alliances on topics related to innovation and corporate transformation. Before joining PMI, Aaron served as Global Communications Director for the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), a global NGO affiliated with one of the most respected faith-based organizations in the world. He oversaw all elements of corporate communications for AKDN during the Diamond Jubilee of His Highness the Aga Khan. Aaron served as Chief Communications and Marketing Officer for the United Nations Foundation through a period of intense global challenge and change. During Aaron's tenure at the Foundation (2009-2017), the communications team won multiple awards including being named “PR Team of the Year” by PR News. He was named by PR Week magazine as “Global Communicator of the Year” in 2015. Aaron holds degrees from the Johns Hopkins University (School of Advanced International Studies – SAIS) and Brigham Young University, speaks Italian, Spanish, Armenian, and French. He served as a volunteer missionary for the Latterday Saint (Mormon) Church and is active in his local faith community. He and his wife Emily have lived in multiple countries since they married, but today have happily returned to where they first met - Washington, D.C. - now together with four children and a dog.
