INTRODUCTION

The success of the Cast Metal Services brand is dependent upon our ability to communicate a consistent and recognisable visual identity to a highly competitive global market place. The best way to achieve this is through the presentation of a strong, unified brand. The decision to rebrand was undertaken to enable a strong global brand, taking advantage of trademarking our name to develop a global footprint in our own right. To project a globally consistent identity it is an imperative to standardise and as such all external communication from this business will represent â&#x20AC;&#x153;Cast Metal Servicesâ&#x20AC;?. CMS is not a globally trademarkable name and for this reason will no longer exist or be promoted by us. Referring to CMS internally is still acceptable but all external communication must use the full name. Throughout this document we will refer to the business as CMS as this is an internal document.

The CMS identity is one of our most valuable assets. It represents the skilled and dedicated employees, our innovative and quality products, and our decades of experience in the industries we service. Your understanding of this styleguide as employees is imperative to the future brand development of Cast Metal Services because you are our most prized and effective branding tools. Through your good work, presentation and all forms of communication you represent the CMS brand. This Styleguide contains the guidelines for use of the CMS logo, product trademarks, business stationery, corporate identity and publications. We encourage you to use this guide in your daily activities.

LOGO COLOURS – Using the Styles and colours in Microsoft® templates

Inside the Microsoft® templates there are Styles set up (see the Styles area in your word document which looks like the image to the right).

Step 1: Select colour palette and the “More Colours” area. Step 2: Pick the custom tab, (for example, to create the CMS blue) enter the RGB values into the screen fields. Red:

There are two fonts used to represent CMS across all corporate, advertising, stationery and marketing material (external use by creative agency/supplier).

INTERNALLY PRODUCED DOCUMENTS The fonts used for corporate correspondence or communication (internal staff use) are from the Calibri font family. Internal staff use is defined as any written communication and correspondence made by CMS staff and includes letters, faxes, memos, PowerpointÂŽ presentations, briefings etc.

Your email auto-signature is to be created and managed through the Auto-Signature Generator on Bradnet.

To access the generator on Bradnet, type “bradnet” into your Internet Explorer window. Then select Styleguide / Outlook Signatures and follow the instructions.

The design has been established to reinforce the overall corporate image of the Bradken and to maintain a consistent application of Bradken’s identity. The typing format of this letter should align left (justified is also acceptable) with a margin of 2cm. The typeface is Arial and the font size is 11 point with 14 point line spacing. The top margin should be set at 4.5cm and the right-‐hand-‐margin at 2cm. All lines should be typed ranged left, avoiding the use of hyphenation. Paragraphs should not be indented, but separated by one line space. If your text comes within 3.0cm of the foot of the page, use a second page. Ensure at least five lines, excluding the signature, are carried over. Do not split the paragraph over the page. Take the whole paragraph to the next page. As part of a consistent Bradken style, it is recommended to use circular bullet points. This document is already set up with the bullets defaulting to a circular symbol. Avoid using double word spacing after sentences. This was originally used in documents produced from typewriters and because all characters had the same width, it helped the reader discern the end of a sentence. Since the advent of word processing this practice is no longer required and makes your documents look unprofessional. Below shows how the CMS branding can be applied to a feature wall. While most sites will be different sizes and shapes it is recommended to always try and keep to a (2 third x 1 third ratio design format) as shown below.

Large format image(s) may be used. When using more than one image keep the cropping of the images in a grid format. The grid is shown using the white lines in the image on the left. Landscape format displays can contain the CMS Vision and Values statements providing a focus on the beliefs and culture of CMS. They are held in place by the wire hanging system and mounted in clear Perspex.

SIGNAGE – Design grid ‘X and Y’ box format for producing signage

All signs are to be produced using the design grid as described below. To create the first X and Y grid box use the CMS logo including the clear space as specified on page 6.

Once the first X and Y grid box is created it can then be used to size the sign at both vertical and horizontal proportions correctly. This will create a harmonious look to all the signs on the site.

SIGNAGE – Creating content for inclusion on signs

All sign content is to be white out of the blue X and Y grid boxes. Akzidenz Grotesk Bold is to be used and always to be typeset in capital letters. If the font Akzidenz Grotesk Bold is unavailable for use then Arial Bold can be used.

Directional arrows are to be kept as a simple graphical element as shown in the examples below. On horizontal signs the CMS logo may appear on the left or right. This allows for a directional arrow to point out of the sign.

The objective of all Fascia signage is to clearly highlight that this is a CMS building. The clear space rule is used to determine the actual dimensions of the sign. To determine the size of the sign, take into consideration the distance at which it needs to be viewed. There are two options for branding the fascia of a building: Option 1: Full colour logo on a white background that covers the entire fascia. Option 2: Full colour logo on a white rectangle positioned on the fascia.

COMPANY UNIFORMS

COMPANY UNIFORMS The CMS logo shall be embroidered on all company clothing. Any person wearing a CMS uniform that visits customers must have an embroidered logo. The CMS logo shall be embroidered in the CMS colours: Shirts and Blouses – on the left hand side. Men – above or on the right hand rear pocket on all pants, trousers and jeans.

If a location requires an ad hoc purchase and the specified cotton colour is unavailable the colours below can be used. They have been matched to a different cottons range ensuring consistency of the CMS logo.
