Changes of Life Behavior

City (VOLUME) becomes more and more concentrated. Gradually, buildings gather to A VOLUME.

City (BEHAVIOR) becomes more and more deconcentrated. Gradually, buildings spread to small VOLUMES.

16

By me ans of the high-density connection of the Internet, there’ll be vast changes in the distance & space amo ng different areas. The concentrated or dispersive areas become mo re condensed or mo re sparse. The feature of centralization amo ng areas become s mo re obvious. The Internet cooperation in a single area & the coexistence amo ng different areas become mo re impo rtant.

Life behavior of surface attribute

18

Because of the decline of spatial demands and the improvement of the Internet, the future life should be differentiated from the past. Thus, the strategy I adopt is to pile and remix the space with the concept of HIGH-DENSITY & LOW LEVEL to bring Nature into our daily life and extend more potential possibilities.

AEROBIC CITY Facilities of relaxation in the office

Instr uctor Chen- Cheng Chen TimeFourt h-yea r (Sep. 04- Jan. 05)

Award of Distinction form.Z Joint Study Program

Hi! how are you today ?

40

Office workers have quite repetitive days in general. I have chosen an eye-catching building in this dull city. Inside and around this building that looks so serious, I set up the colorful boxes that I designed, hoping these remedies can somehow

2004-2005

People in Taipei are always springing their clockworks. They don’t have time for vacation. So, what can we do in the office ?

Not bad, only worked 12 hours!

41

SCENARIO

AEROBIC CITY FACILITIES OF RELAXATION

2004-2005

This is a story about an ordinary office staff and his repetitive life.

8:30 AM Ready to Work?

44

He walked out from subway and found out that there’s a conveyer near the station. The strip he walked on is moving in the opposite direction; this means he has to walk twice as fast to move ahead. This resembles the struggle and difficulty on the way to work. In addition, as he walks on the strip, the exercise makes him feel energetic and starts to wake him up.

STAGE

8:45 AM Need Some Energy!

Everybody is gathered at the front door of the company, and steps up to the platform; “let’s start the day with our slogan, to promote our morale. You can also tell all your complaints or confess to the ones you love.”

45

FILE ROOM

2004-2005

10:00 AM My Happiest Hour of the Day

46

Beside the bathroom, the file room is the only place where he can go to have a little break. While he is on the way to the file room, he meets her. They have an unspoken understanding to meet here. When he talks to her through the semi transparency of the digital file room, it is his happiest time of the day.

He just had a greasy lunch and is now hoping to have a healthful juice to clean up his intestines. In the Juice Bar, he orders a wheat-grass juice that he grows his own wheat-grass in his office. The bar is like a vending machine, moving up and down through each floor.
